I never understood the draw to this guy, but then again, I don't understand the draw to most of these guys. Alberts came off as too arrogant for his own good, though. I'm sure he'll land on his feet.

I always thought of Alberts to be a 2nd tier guy in ESPN's college football lineup. He's no Corso or even Herbstreit.

I'd give anything to have his former job. I dont care about playing second fiddle, as long as I get to travel and watch college football and get paid for it Im happy.

I wonder if it won't take a while, though. It will depend on his contract. My guess is that since he was in "breach" that he most likely will not be allowed to work on air for some period of time.

This thread deserves at least 5 bonus stars.

I dislike Trev. He and Aaron Taylor get on my nerves. Almost like Dan Dierdork used to.

If that's the case, then we all benefit.

I was not a fan of Alberts.

I'm wondering just exactly where he thinks he will go to get a better gig.

I can't remember the last time I heard the word "fired" get used for an on-air personality on a national network. Normally it's "resigned" or "mutual agreement" or some such verbiage.

Anyway, good riddance. I remember him on PTI a couple of years ago after Nebraska fired Frank Solich. He was on as a college football analyst, but got way too personally involved with the situation while discussing the firing. He lost my respect as an analyst after that.

He bounces around like he has a live Dungeness crab in his underwear.

Then he opens his mouth.

Other than that, yeah, he's okay.

I seem to be the only one here that thinks Alberts brought some entertainment to the studio show. He kinda grows on ya like a fungus.

I think Mark May is at least tolerable and takes a reasoned approach to what he says. OTH Alberts was just a loud mouthed pissant who seemed to take contrary views just because. I was glad to not see him on the show this weekend and gladder still knowing why.

I assume this is more of a setup than anything, so I don't blame these guys for taking contrary opinions on these shows. It's the latest thing. However, Alberts just has a crappy, arrogant, know-it-all personality which rubs me the wrong way. Even if it's staged, as I suspect it is, he comes off poorly in that kind of format, unlike Mark May.

I wonder if Trev realizes that analysts like him are a dime a dozen. I'm sure there are plenty of former players who are toiling away on FOX Sports X, who'd be just as good.

I'm not sad to see Alberts gone, but if Mark May were to lose his key to the Bristol studios, I wouldn't shed a tear.

According to Trev, he'll never be on TV again.
