Take a deep breath...

and let it out.

With the political threads, the song threads about jbmagic, antmeister, and Skydog this week, I think people need to just relax and realize it's just a messageboard.

It's Friday! The weekend's coming!

I'd really prefer we just have a meet-and-greet, preferrably somewhere dueling is still legal. Or, alternately, somewhere convienient that a lot of bodies could be hidden inconspicuously & that loud noises don't attract much attention.

If I ever meet you in person, I am going to give you a big burly man hug and then we'll drink some beers and tell dirty jokes.

Not Tucker, I think your best bet is Paraguay.
1. Dueling is still legal.
2. More than 95-percent of the population live in eastern Paraguay. The western region is known as the Chaco: an extensive, inhospitable plain which is hotter than Hades.

#2 fits the bill of a covenient place (Western Paraguay) to hide bodies and loud noises don't attract anyone, since there are very few people out there.

Check Orbitz or travelocity for Airfare, probably just a one way ticket, since someone isn't returning.

If it's too hot then the dueling isn't as fun.

Not as much fun? At least we'll get to the results a lot faster. It will be too hot to waste time being merciful and we can move through the killing a lot faster.

I wouldn't be unhappy if political threads were simply banned. There's a lot of things about some of you I'd rather not know, and I'm sure the feeling's mutual.

I think a duel would be better without weapons like that. Use other weapons like...a harpoon...or a slingshot...or better yet wet towels.

Tridents would be interesting, especially in a one on one situation. I mean if you can't dodge a trident from 30 yards or so out, you just deserve to die.

And just for the triple dola of it all, there's another agreement for me in this thread.

I would be unhappy if political threads were banned. Nothing is personal, and it's always good to exchange ideas and debate over what should be done. While no one may admit that they're wrong, I'd like to think that most of us ponder over the other side's legitimate arguments.

on another site that i am very active on, we do have a separate forum for political topics, as well as a separate one for general ot ideas, and even one for offensive ot discussions (porn). these 3 threads are only open to premium site members, meaning those who after being a free memeber decided to donate to the site and received an upgraded membership for it. i think the separate forums are great, as it keeps the main boards clear of clutter, and people that want to avoid the political topics dont even have to go to that page.

To me, it's a little dicey to break things down into too many forums. Granted, here there is a lot of significant traffic on just about anything, but if politics is split off, then who is to say that the various sports topics won't split off. Eventually, this general forum may revert to *gasp* FOF topics. It's a slippery slope, I tell ya!

Sounds like the setup for Survivor: Paraguay, using the methods from The Quick and the Dead to "vote" people off.
