Sometimes I hate this game!

In my Cardinals franchise, I have more booms busts and injuries than I can ever remember. Rookie highlights/lowlights below:

2013
Pick 1.14 - traded up to get a T with great combine stats who proceeds to bust immediately from 22/65 to 11/38 and goes unsigned

2014
Pick 1.14 - sleeper WR goes from 35/54 to 52/64 at the beginning of his 2nd year, then serious injury drops him to 33/38

2015
Pick 2.01 - traded up (by trading away my 69/75 franchised T) to get a T with great combine stats who booms from 26/52 to 33/63 midway through 1st season, then major injury drops him to 17/27

Pick 7.22 - nearly traded away the pick as I didn;t see anybody worth a bonus, but took a flyer on a projected #4 DE who immediately booms from 19/38 to 37/71 before dropping to 38/65 in camp, but still the biggest boom I've ever had

2016
Pick 1.03 - traded up to get a T with great combine stats who proceeds to bust immediately from 39/83 to 27/63, but I sign him anyway as I really need a T now!

Add this to a number of veterans (all seemingly WR/T/DE getting horribly injured, my coach with VG injury prevention is canned for one with Excellent, but slightly lower other skills.

I've had a number of other rookies boom or bust +/- 10, and am beginning to wonder if it's my GM style: as the Cards make a loss every year, I am trying to minimise costs to restrict the losses, including paying my staff $1.5m a year and my scout $150k a year - even though they are ranked at least good in every applicable skill set, could the low wage be the reason for the increased fluctuations & injuries?

This game makes me want to tear my hair out at times! (But I love it really )

Have you considered the built in "reality" factor in the game? I mean, the Cardinals tend to completely blow pick after pick...

This just goes to show: You are no Denny Green, man.

My advice to you is to not trade up to get a T with great combine stats.

Before the Ban-sabre gets broken out, the previous post was intended to be a joke. I do not endorse getting hit by a car.

Yes. You need to start trading up to grab tackles with horrible combine stats.
