The bloody Finger

So Im getting a quote from this guy on doing a covered and screened patio and were standing on the back porch. He starts to say, "Well let me get some me...damnit. this tape measure is seeing its last day." The tape measure is getting hung up inside the wheel at about 8'. He keeps jerking on it and jerking on it, making a comment here and there to break the awkwardness. Finally he asks, "do you have a tape measure I can use?" I go inside to scrounge one up but can only find a 12' when a 25' would be best. So I take the 12' outside where he is nowstanding looking at the slab scratching his chin. I start to look around, dunno why, just around when I hear, "Damnit!! Oh man if this day couldn't get any worse." I look back and he is holding the 8' piece in one hand and the wheel in the other and blood is pouring out of this guy's finger. "Oh man." I say, "Let me go inside and get some stuff to clean that up." I go inside inside feeling really sorry for the guy. I get some triple antibiotic, bandaids, and papertowels. When I get back outside he has started to open his book of pictures and is trying to continue the sale and talk about pictures but I can tell things are heading south fast. His hand is pulsing blood out onto the papertowel and I know I saw him once wipe something off of the patio chair. All over the slab are spots of blood. Finally after nodding to his pitch a few times I say, "Maybe you should get that taken care of." He says, "no its no big deal" and proceeds to open the wound and I swear it went into the bone and maybe even carved it's initials in it. I say, "That doesn't look so good." not to mention the fact that on the razor like end of the 8' piece is rust and god knows what else. He says, "Yeah lemme go get this fixed and Ill call you with an estimate." I walk him around the side of the house (Wouldnt want him dripping blood on the carpet considering I only need tohave one room's carpet replaced not the whole house, yet) and wish him well. The next day he calls, gives me the 20% off injury discount and I say thanks Ill consider it. So not to mention was the guy bad luck he was $4000 more than the other. Ill pick the other guy thank you.
