OT: What a day that was! (poker)

I know, I know, another poker story. I'll try to keep it brief.

I decided I needed experience for the upcoming FOFC match, so I tried a $20+2 sit-n-go at Bodog. I should've won it, but lost a 3 outer on the river for most of my chips heads up. That was worth $60. I also needed multi-table experience, so I chose a $10+1 tourney. It had 123 entrants, and I didn't last long, finishing 85th. Back to the sit-n-gos, this time for $30+3. I won it, but frankly I was incredibly lucky. I rivered my opponents at least four times with, um, not the best hands in the world. But first is first and I took $150 for this. As a finale, I wanted more multi-table experience and I sure got that with the $25+2 last night. 352 folks squared off against yours truly. Things did not go well from the start as I lost a quarter of my stack early (my ship - er, draws - didn't come in). I spent most of the evening behind the field - sometimes well behind. I thought, "Maybe I'll split the field and get to the first break." Check and check. "Maybe I'll make the top 100." Check. "Maybe I'll make the top 50." Did that too. The money was getting close (it paid 36), so maybe enough of the smaller stacks and some of the bigger stacks would go away and allow me to cash. They did. Somehow I made it to the 4th table, the 3rd table, the 2nd table, and finally the final table. My stack was 7th of nine, but somehow luck stayed wtih me until I finished fourth. That was worth $800.

I'm sure the more poker-savvy FOFCers are yawning, saying "What else is new? I do stuff like this all the time." and moving on to the next thread. But turning $88 into over $1000 in one day is quite a thrill for me and I just wanted to share.
