Ugh.

I didn't realize that the All-Star starters won't be announced until the "Selection Show" on Sunday, so I was checking MLB.com to see if any results were up.

This is what I found:

Quote:
For the third straight year, fans around the world will have the opportunity to participate in deciding the outcome of the Midsummer Classic when they cast their votes for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player presented by Chevrolet at the 76th All-Star Game via the Ameriquest 2005 All-Star Game MVP Vote on MLB.com.

Could there BE any more advertising crammed into that paragraph?

Peregrine's "Wanta Fanta" Daily Opinion is co-sponsored by Verizon.

It's an interesting conundrum. On the one hand, fans want information. On the other, Major League Baseball needs revenue. As my good friends at Nike like to say, "Just do it." Feel free to express your outrage at this new advertising infestation, perhaps by rocking out to any of Sam Goody's hot new rap and rock releases. Tell your friends that you aren't going to take it anymore, you may be able to find them at American Eagle, which I don't have to remind you, offers hot fashions at low prices. Stand up from your computer and get out to the great outdoors, away from all this advertising nonsense. The good folks at REI Outfitters will be glad to help you find anything you need for your outdoor adventure. Read a book, look at a painting, take in a show, because the greatest power in the world is the human mind. (The last statement is a registered copyright of Exxon.)
