I don't get to watch this show, since I'm at work every day, but about a month ago, I went to the doctor's office mid-morning and got to watch TPIR. During one game, a guy had to guess the prices of 3 items and not have a combined difference more than $25 from the actual prices to win. So the guy tells Bob his first guess, and although I was pretty sure I heard it clearly, Bob announced it as something else (I think he said something like $25, and Bob said $35). But the guy didn't say anything. And then he went on to lose. So they come back from the commercial, and Bob announces that they went ahead and awarded him the prizes anyway because of the screw-up. I'm thinking this is the best way to win on TPIR.

The funny thing is that the same guy made it to the Showcase Showdown and bid something like $60,000 on the first showcase! It was so ridiculous, the chick he was up against bid $1 on hers...and of course, won. His ended up being around $18K. I don't know what that guy was thinking.
