You may have just gotten quite a steal in the draft, with Jon Niese. Kid can pitch, his ERA this year was something like 0.09
Supposedly according to his HS (Defiance, OH) coach he is the best player they have ever had....just last year they had a kid drafted in the first round by the Dodgers, Chad Billingsley. The bad news is you just picked up Denny Graves. |

They will probably trade the kid long before he gets close to the big leagues.
I think Graves is a good pickup for them. |

Found out how the kid fell to the 7th round, he is/was demanding $800,000 signing bonus so most teams backed off picking him. According to the local paper he was supposed to get the $800,000 he wanted from the Mets, he was to sign yesterday. I'd think that would be a record for a 7th round pick.
