TCY and illegal recruiting violations

One interesting aspect of TCY was the inclusion of brides in the recruiting process.

I started high and mighty and refused to use it, when one day down one my luck I tried it. And it worked, worked pretty well actually, so I continued to use it sparingly (1-2 a year).

And it’s fairly easy to stay out of trouble, I’ve found the worse the recruit’s attitude is the more likely he will accept it (kids with great attitude report often), and a recruit that accepts a bride will almost always commit

So I got to thinking, you know all those unexpected choices of school the recruits make (you know when the recruit says Acad/Dis and ends up going Utah St. was that b/c of an accepted bride?

So the question is, how often, how frequent, and how widespread is AI schools offering a bride to recruits?

Bribe?
Or are you giving the recruits foreign chicks that will marry them in exchange for a green card?

This must have been added in the latest patch. All I can do in my version is have my players take recruits to The Vu.

Good question about the bribes and AI. I've never thought of that one. Do the other schools get put on probation? I can't recall.

I have bribed extensively in one TCU career and did several save-and-reloads to figure out what was going on. If you notice, your reputation with the NCAA gets tarnished in that the "do you really want to do this?" question takes on a more foreboding tone the more you bribe. Also, reactions have a substantial random element, but the more you bribe the greater the chance the next kid will turn you in.

Getting put on probation when a year rolls over is random, with the odds getting more unfavorable with each attempt.

Other schools do get put on probation. I assume other schools bribe based on the 'integrity' of their head coach (or whatever the trait is called in the game). Also, your Syndicate coordinator plays a HUGE role in determining whether bribes get you put on probation.

Very right about the syndicate coordinator. Don't try bribes unless he's banana yellow!

If you mess around with the bribing in a career, especially if you're saving and reloading just to experiment, it's actually pretty surprising how many times you can bribe without being put on probation. I don't even think the suspicion level carries over a little from one year to the next, which you'd think it would. And although AI schools do get put on probation it seems to happen very infrequently, maybe once every twenty years or so (in my experience). I like the introduction of brides for TCY 2, but there has to come a point after two or three girlfriends where the nagging starts to negatively impact player happiness.
