Great quiz show question

There's a show just started here called 'Ultimate Game Show Moments'...

Please let them show the moment from Family Fortunes where Les Dennis asked the starter question 'Name a dangerous race'...

The guy smacked the buzzer and said 'The Arabs, Les'

Genius!

I'd say the white man is much more dangerous.

Not meant as a discussion point on ethnic characteristics, purely an extremely dumb answer genuinely given on a British TV game show...

Another classic I'd forgotten about from 3-2-1

Rogers: "This is a composer. German by birth, English by adoption. Best known for an oratorio published in 1741. It was called Messiah. You're bound to know his handle."
Female contestant: (presses buzzer) "Oh God, I used to have it at school... Handel's Water Music..."
Rogers: "So who's the composer?"
Female contestant: "Chopin?"
(audience shrieks in disbelief)
Rogers: (shrugs shoulders and turns to other team) "So I can offer it to you."
Male contestant: "Beethoven?"

I have no clue what you're trying to say. You Brits and your weird language...

That was a classic un-aired until recently clip from an episode of The Newlywed Game that was shot in the '70s...

Disgraceful revelations! On Bullseye (a darts based quiz) they used to have a speedboat or a car as the main prize, but you never knew which it was until it was revealed after you'd won or lost

The presenter, Jim Bowen, has just admitted that the producer had struck up a deal with the speedboat manufacturer that if they bought three, they would get a discounted price, and they always had two main prizes set up...

When the contestants won they revealed the speedboat, and when they lost and he said 'Now this is what you could have won' they showed the car! Outrageous! Especially when one of the 'winners' was from from Dudley, which about as far away from the seas as you can get in England!

(PS. for those of you already bored with this thread, you'll be pleased to know that the show's finished now, so there'll be no more running commentary - was a great nostalgic look back at trash quiz shows over the last 20 years or so though!)

I remember they had an episode of Family Feud (though it was British, so it may be called something different), and in the final round, the woman answered "Turkey" for all of the questions.

The turkey thing was on the show as well (Family Fortunes in the UK) - kinda made sense when they explained it - he had heard that one of the answers was 'chicken' so thought turkey was a good bet as well. So he answered turkey to 'What do you buy 1st in the supermarket?' and 'What is a food that can be stuffed?'. The only one where he got carried away was 'Name one thing you take to the beach'

JeeberD - apologies: I've only heard the Newlywed's before, didn't realise it was from a TV show - could only find a bleeped version... (need Real player)
