This is weird...
Whenever I open Outlook Express, my AOL instant messenger opens and connects. I've done a spybot search and destroy as well as adware sweep, and it still happens. Anybody know what is going on here?

Is AIM set to not turn on as soon as you connect to the internet?

Uncheck make AIM my default instant message program under sign on/off options in AIM.
