Gordon's statement may come off as stupid, but he has does have a legimate claim. For a series that claims to be "equal", it doesn't have min weight requirements. NASCAR and F1 do. Weight is pretty important in racing, escp. over a 500 mile race. As for Gordon, is he doing double duty tomarrow?

Gordon has a completely valid point. I've had the displeasure of meeting Danicle in Cleveland last year, and you don't realize how tiny she is, until you see her in person. Drivers like Paul Tracy and Justin Wilson were literally two times her size. Even if she is just gaining a MPH, it makes a difference.

The hypocrisy of Gordon's statement lies in the fact that he isn't even in the series. He had no aspirations of doing the 500 this year, and now is trying to get some press off this. I guess it worked though.... it's part of the lead story on CNN.

I can't wait for this damn race to be over.

Wanted to clear up an earlier statement I said, IRL has a min weight requirement, but its before the driver and fuel are added. Other series have weight requirements including the car+driver (and fuel, not sure). I read that she would have an 1 mph advantage on her weight, which is pretty big at a track like Indy over 200 laps/500 miles.

As for Gordon, I always like him back in the IndyCar days, and sorta follow him through the NASCAR series. He's a rebel in that he likes to do things his way, but he works hard and has talent.
