OOTP: Crash when trying to sign free agents

Sure, I could post over on the OOTP boards, but I've seen some of what everyone has posted over there and figure if I'm going to get razzed, I at least ought to get razzed by people I respect

I just recently bought OOTP and joined the DKBL. DKBL just hit FA, and I'm getting a crash whenever I right-click a player in the free agent list to make an offer. It either crashes as soon as I enter my password, or if I enter my password on the team setup screen and then go back to FA it crashes as soon as I right-click on the player.

This is a relatively fresh install (as I said, I just bought it for this league and am on only the second download of the league file), and I've installed on my computer at work and it happens there. I've turned off DirectX and Sound Support in the configuration utility without any effect.

Other teams in the league are able to do FA fine. I've asked the commish to see if he can make an offer from Boston, but am still waiting to hear back (I only made that request a little bit ago). It's sure beginning to sound like something weird in the Boston team data.

I've sent e-mail to support, along with links to minidump files (the joys of Visual Studio being installed...) for them to dig stack traces out of if they so desire, but no word back. I'm not giving up on support, but we've just started FA and I'm going to fall behind in the league if I can't figure out a workaround. Any OOTP veterans have any suggestions?
