When we changed software (moved servers? I forget) some old threads were lost, including, sadly, the original cocky and funny thread, and several other HM gems (like, the lost confession). We can now only satisfy ourselves with the inferior Mr Skippy and wig bannings.

Both, actually. We upgraded AND moved to another server. The UBB board was a serious resource hog, slowing down all other boards on the server at times. Ryan and I convinced them to keep it up for a while after we switched to vbulletin, but after it kept slowing things down, they ix-nayed it. Some of the threads from the UBB board transfered over to this vbulletin board, but some didn't.

Are you sure about that? If my memory serves me correctly, we were able to see older threads for a few months because we were *linking* to the old board. Once it went down, the links became broken. Did Ryan also have to do some mass deletions that I don't recall? (I'm 99.9% sure that *I* didn't delete "a bunch of the older threads.")

Yeah, I think it was Ryan who did a big "clean up" back then. I'm pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with the old board going bye-bye...

I have assumed the same thing.
