We have just been informed of the passing of Redmond A. Simonsen, renowned for his talents as Art Director for SPI. Story developing...

Quite a luminary in the wargame industry. R.I.P.

Is there still a wargame industry? I haven't seen a map and carboard counter board wargame in years...

Alive and well. If you have any interest let me know and I can point you to some sources on the internet.

I'm saddened. I met Simonsen at SPI when I did a little Friday night playtesting back in the early 1970's. Quite a bright guy.

He invented and copyrighted the 'Et' (Microsoft doesn't have a key for it, but you know what I mean) symbol used for the magazine logo. It's since become quite popular.

Matrixgames.com and Wargamer.com are pretty good sites for those needing a wargame fix.
