H&R Block etc...

Anyone ever use these? I was wondering how much they cost. From what I know you can get a same day refund? I'm going on vacation soon and would like to get my refund as soon as possible.

Yeah, I was wondering too. I usually do TurboTax on-line, but I can't this year because I moved in the middle of the year (TT on-line can't handle multiple state returns). If H&R etc is cheaper than buying the TT CD plus 2 state returns, then I just might use 'em...

That "Same Day Refund" is actually a loan - therefore they take interest off what you're owed.

The only time I've ever used them I had to pay around $160 for them to electronically file my 1040EZ. Not a good investment in hindsight.

From everything I've heard they royally suck. Turbo Tax is the way to go unless you've got significant issues, at which point I'd just go to a CPA.

I use them, never had a problem or any complaints.

that they recheck your last 3 years worth of taxes to see if you can get more money for free is a nice perk, i think.

I used them in the past and never had an issues. It was quick, painless, and pretty accurate. Never used Turbo Tax, so I can't compare.

I used block last year. I had done a fair bit a daytrading, and passed my statement along with my W2, etc. I got a confused call from the person working the return and ended up having to figure out most of it myself. Might as well have done the whole thing.
