Anyone with any more details on the race?

I know it costs boatloads of money, but we're willing to enter the race in 2007, as we try and reach $40,000. I think this will make for an interesting dynasty, and it really isn't a joke. We're going to be trying our damndest to enter the Cannonball Run.

So .. Anyone with a more intimate knowledge of the race care to elaborate on what they know?

We've been researching the web, found some stuff, most of it dated, so any more recent stuff would rock.
