V.89 - Royal Knights FC Season 25 (take 2)

SEASON 25
This will be my 3rd season in Hattrick and my 3rd in USA V.89. This thread will be the place for all official news about the Royal Knights. Season 24 was a wild ride. We were in 4th place after 6 weeks off league play. We then hit a very bad run of form and spiraled into 6th place. We would have been relegated to USA VI., but Quakes had 3 WO to end the season and we survived. Season 25 looks to be another competitve season as V.89 was in the top 20 all season until the 3 WO games. Arena The Castle of Champions (71488)
Economy
One reason I am very optimistic this season is due to the new changes in the "retard" fans from the last two seasons. In the last month so I have gained 118 supporters. The 6 months prior I had only gained 84.  What a difference this change will make for my economy and my team's growth.Coach
Jens Molgård (7817521) 43 years, inadequate form, healthy.
A solid trainer who is neither attack nor defense minded A popular guy who is temperamental and honest. Has outstanding experience and poor leadership abilities.
Jens was hired this offseason and will be the coach for the next two years or so.

Royal Knights FC Roster Goalkeepers
CURRENT ROLE - STARTER Diego Miera was our big acquistion last offseason. Last season he played most of his games in solid form which earned him 3.5 stars in those games. He has played in 18 games for the club and he is 0 for 1 on free kicks.
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP Carrizo was our backup all of last season. He may still see some time in the starting lineup because his inadequate experience gives him 3 stars in solid and excellent form. Orlando is the oldest player on the Knights roster and this will probably be his last season in the backup role. He has played in 16 competitive matches for the Knights.

Defenders
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING CENTRAL DEFENDER He receives 2 stars on average and 2.5 stars when he is in solid and excellent form. Schenker has played in 20 competitive matches for the Knights in which he has scored 3 goals and been booked 6 times.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING WINGBACK Zeigler has been with the Knighs since the beginning. Mick had a rough year last season form wise. He only played 3 matches in passable or higher which meant that he spent most of his time on the bench. Zeigler has played in 26 games so far in his career and he has scored 4 goals to go along with his 1 booking.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING WINGBACK Saenz was pulled from our youth squad in week 1 of season 24. He will probably split time on the strong side of the defense with Ed Pierce. Last season was good for Jarrett as he averaged 2.5 stars in his last 9 games. He has played in 10 games for the club so far and he has 0 goals and 0 bookings.
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP WINGBACK Pierce is another player that has been with the club since our inception. He averages 2.5 stars and will put up 3 stars in solid and excellent form. Even though his skills are weaker than Saenz, Ed will see time in the starting lineup due to his advantage in experience. Pierce has played in 23 matches in which he has scored 1 goal and been booked 7 times (1 RED).
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP CENTRAL DEFENDER Even though Li is a backup, any poor run in form for any of the starters will lead to him seeing action. Li pulled in 2.5 stars all of last season. He has played in 18 matches for the Knights. He has yet to score a goal and has been booked 5 times (1 RED).

Midfielders/Wingers
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING INNER MIDFIELDER Mattox has been a mainstay in the starting lineup from the very beginning of this club. He is a guy who constantly puts of 3 stars. He has played in 35 matches in which he has scored 11 goals and he has been booked twice.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING INNER MIDFIELDER Vujanović was bought in week 3 of season 24. He averaged 3 stars a game last season and in solid form and up he will earn 3.5 stars. The only problem with that is the fact that Vujanović's form only reached solid for 1 week last season. He has played in 14 games with 2 goals and 4 bookings.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING INNER MIDFIELDER Santana was our big purchase in the offseason. He was bought from Landgraff UTD, a series V. team in the USA. His transfer fee was $750K. Santana instantly becomes the best midfielder to ever grace the turf at The Castle of Champions. Hopefully, Santana will see his form bo up quickly and we are expecting no less than 3.5 stars on average. He is also the first Knights player to ever don the #11 jersey.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING OFFENSIVE WING With the offseason sale of star striker, Eric Druff, McCrary becomes the most talented player on the team. McCrary can not only finish a play, but he is very adept to starting one with his solid passing skills from the wing. Anthony averages 3.5 stars a game, except when he is inadequate form like he was for 5 weeks in season 24 where he only garnered 3 stars a game. McCrary has played in 32 matches in which he has scored 4 goals to go along with 1 booking. He also has 4 recorded assists (exceptional passes).
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP INNER MIDFIELDER Kerssens has been an enigma during his tenure with the Knights and now with the purchase of Santana, he has been relegated to the B-squad. Kerssens will be the captain for our B-squad this season. One major problem Kerssens has is his ability to stay healthy. He has been hurt 11% of the time he has been with the club. He has appeared in 10 games in which he has scored 6 goals and has been booked 1 time.
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP INNER MIDFIELDER Jan Pluijm is another member of the B-squad. He has performed better than Kerssens voer the past season and will see action as a starter if anyone happens to get injured. He has appeared in 13 games for the Knights. Klaas has yet to score a goal, but he has been booked twice.
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP WINGER Tharp is an original Knight who gets plugged into the lineup if needed. He sees action at both the wing and wingback positions. He is one of the few players that had a good run of form last season as he stayed at solid form for nearly 9 weeks. Tharp is the 2nd oldest player on the team and his days with the club are numbered. He has appeared in 18 games in which he has scored 3 goals.
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP WINGER Herrington has been with the club from the beginning and ever since the move to play 3 IM's Herrington has seen his starts diminish. He has appeared in 10 games with 1 goal scored.
CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP WINGER Corey was a week 4 YP in season 24. He was put on the TL, but did not sell and I think it was because he was 19 with no secondaries. Oh well. So now he starts on the wing for the 2nd team and has performed fairly well. He has averaged 2.5 stars over his last 7 matches. He has never played a game with the main club and he probably never will. He has earned 1 card.

Forwards (The Training Program)
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING FORWARD Estep is now the main offensive weapon up front. Last season he led the Knights with 8 goals and finished in 8th place in all of V.89. This year Estep is looking to finish in the top 3. He is 48% to outstanding scoring right now. He did lose 2 weeks of training last season due to a "5 week" injury. Estep averaged 3 stars a game last season and I expect him to reach the 3.5 and up plateau this season. He has played in 16 matches for the club and he has scored 14 goals (2 HATTRICKS) and he has been booked 6 times.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTER O'Connor is player that was pulled from our youth squad. He was pulled in week 3 of season 23. He is 87% trained to formidable. O'Connor is the captain of the starting unit. For the first 8 weeks of season 24 Tom's form was horrendous. For 6 of those weeks it was at poor or weak and then his work ethic changed. He is now earned a role in the starting squad and his form is up to solid where he pulls in 3.5 stars a games. He has played in 12 matches with 5 goals scored (1 HATTRICK) and 1 booking.
CURRENT ROLE - STARTING FORWARD The third striker spot will end up being a rotation of Urvet and Escamilla. Urvet was purchased from Mutantpäkapikud, a series IV. team in Estonia, in week 13 of last season when Estep got injured and I needed a new trainee for when Druff was sold. It worked out PERFECTLY! His transfer fee was $79K and the best part about Urvet is that he popped after only 1 week of training.  He is currently 39% trained to excellent. He has appeared in 3 games for the Knights with 3 goals scored (1 HATTRICK) and he has yet to be booked.
CURRENT ROLE - TRAINEE Escamilla was pulled from our youth squad in week 14 of season 23. His powerful specialty intrigued and led to Rex landing a spot on the roster. Rex is 25% trained to fomidable. Rex is another player having form issues. He has been at inadequate for 12 weeks. He has appeared in 3 games and has netted 2 goals to go along with 3 bookings.
CURRENT ROLE - TRAINEE Qvist was purchased in week 7 of season 24 for $140K. He came to the Knights via Leifer`n FC, a series V. team in Norway. When I purchased Qvist I thought he was about ready to pop according to his TSI. I figured it would take anywhere from 1-3 weeks, but he decided to take 8 weeks. He is currently 12% trained to excellent. This guy is in the doghouse and he better score some goals or he will find himself back on the TL. He has played in 2 games so far with no goals and no bookings.
CURRENT ROLE - TRAINEE Bello was a YP in week 13 of season 23. Bello has yet to impress me with his efforts and his lack of production with his head specialty. (Did I just write that?) Bello is 75% trained to excellent. He has played in 3 games for the Knights and has yet to score a goal, but he has been booked 3 times.

Dallas Cowboys
Team Age: 1042 days History: The Cowboys is a team that has been all over the USA. They have been to series III. twice. Each time they were relegated back to IV. after one season. They finished third in IV. 37 in season 23, but last season they finished 7th and were auot-demoted. They just made a $3M purchase:20 yo. GK Dennis Philippens. According to the GK tool, he is magnificent. He will be the best GK V.89 has seen in my tenure.Ratings: Last season they averaged a 139 HSR. Over their last 3 games they only averaged a 119 HSR. Team Age: 502 days History: This will be the LazyDragons 6th season in V.89. They finished as the series champ in season 23 and finished 2nd in season 22 and 24. They have not made any major moves this offseason. Ratings: Last season they averaged a 153 HSR. Over their last 3 games they only averaged a 167 HSR. Week 1 of the cup they posted a 140. They added IM Cesar Lugo this offseason for for $1.775M. Ratings: Last season they averaged a 142 HSR. Over their last 3 games they only averaged a 145 HSR. Week 1 of the cup they posted a 154. Team Age: 469 days History: This will be the Shadowboxers 2nd season in V.89. They were in VI.36 for 4 seasons before they auto-promoted after season 23. They are a very solid and well managed team. They have not added anybody during the break. Ratings: Last season they averaged a 129 HSR. Over their last 3 games they only averaged a 135 HSR. Week 1 of the cup they posted a 120.
