The "Canonization of Tom Brady" continues.
All that's left is for him to resurrect the dead, turn water into wine, and to walk on water. Yeesh.
Oh, don't get me wrong, it's a great story.. but geez.. is there ever anything he can't do? FOXBORO, Mass. -- New England quarterback Tom Brady had a 103-degree fever the night before the Patriots beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC championship game, Sports Illustrated reported. The magazine said in this week's issue that Brady had an intravenous line in his left -- non-throwing -- arm on Saturday night while fighting off chills in his Pittsburgh hotel room. In outdoor temperatures of 11 degrees, Brady threw for two touchdowns with no interceptions to lead the Patriots to a 41-27 victory and their third Super Bowl appearance in four years. Patriots spokesman Stacey James did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

The patriots better check the lockers pre-game time in case someone smuggles kryptonite in there...

Didn't Rowdy Roddy Piper beat someone while blind? I think it was due to having acid thrown in his eyes by another wrestler while on a plane flight. |

As long as the other guy followed the agreed-upon script, it doesn't seem all that tough to me. |

I don't really see that article being too bad. By the title and intor to the thread I thought it was going to be some fluff piece over emphasizing every little thing that he does.
Hell, he has nothing on Derrek Coleman. He once played for 30 seconds with a hang nail before succumbing to the pain. |

Call me when Brady pulls a Koufax and plays for four years with a debilitating elbow injury IN his throwing arm, and wins a pair of championships in the process.

Bah, call me when Koufax pulls a Jabbar and plays for years with chronic migraines and racks up these kinds of accolades. He holds NBA records for most seasons, 20; most games, 1,560; most minutes played, 57,448; most points, 38,387; most field goals, 15,837; and most blocked shots, 3,189. He was the NBA's regular season MVP in 1971, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, and 1980, and the playoff MVP in 1971 and 1985. Kareem was first-team all-star center in 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1984, and 1986, and second-team in 1970, 1978, 1979, 1983, and 1985. Lets not even mention that he was 40 yrs old before he averaged less than 20 pts per game.

Kareem had a great career, no question, but playing with chronic migraines and literally risking your long-term ability to use your arm aren't in the same ballpark, pun uninteded.

Have you ever had chrionic migraines? It's not something you just shake off. It hurts to move. Light feels like someone is hammering a spike through your forehead. You get nauseaus. Playing a contact sport through that like he and Terrel Davis did is damned impressive. It may not have the same long term ramifications but requires just as much if not more intestinal fortitude to do it day in and day out and he did it for 20 seasons and several championships. Unlike Terrell he didn't have the Imotrex shot to help him ou either. I don't know how much pain is involved with Koufax's injury but if it is the risk of long term injury that made his feast impressive to you I'd say the list of guys who risk this is pretty long. I mean this as no knock on Koufax either as he was probably the second best southpaw ever to pitch.
