Until someone beats the Pats it's hard to pick against them.

If I had money to bet, I'd lay my money on the Steelers.

I gotta agree.

And, until the Eagles can prove they can win the NFC title game, it's hard to pick them to make the Super Bowl.

Hmmm... who was actually giving 7-1 on the Pats coming into this year?

You mean someone like the Steelers? New England got thrashed by Pittsburgh earler this year. Don't get me wrong, I picked New England in the above poll. I just don't understand this reasoning.

Maybe the implied argument is:

Until someone beats the Pats in the playoffs, with a chance at a championship on the line, it's hard to pick against them.

Yea because we all know that week 8 and the AFC Championship game are the same. Tell me, who has beaten Brady in the playoffs? Oh yea, nobody. I stand by my original statement.

Anyone but the Jets would have beaten the Steelers this weekend. Why Herm sat on the ball with a minute to go is mystifying.

I want the Pats, I want to put an end to their perfection. I want that blemish on their Super Bowl record to come from us.

Please. Lets not even start on that. But if you've watched the Jets regularly, its par for the course.

I said it in the Divsional Playoff thread as it was happening, he cost them that game as much as Brien. He showed no interest in getting closer with over a minute on the clock, if it was my team he would of been fired on Saturday night.

Start what?

Herm is a wonderful coach in getting his team to play hard. That team gave everything out there. The Jets need someone on Sundays to take care of the actual game calling. Hackett is not the answer.

They made all the plays and chickened out when it mattered most. Yeah, 40 yards for the field goal should be no problem..let's just sit right here with 2 timeouts and waste a minute. The way they were running, 5-7 more rushing yards or an easy play action dump were no brainers.

Everyone blames Brien but that one should be placed squarely on Edwards and Hackett.

I think week 8 and the AFC Championship is a closer comparison that the 2003 AFC Championship and the 2004 AFC Championship.

I must be in an argumentative mood because I AGREE with you as to the outcome. The Patriots with Corey Dillon are a different team that the Steelers saw in week 8.

I want to see the Patriots show up for the game in their old throwback uniforms.

For that matter, I want to see the Falcons in the pre-Glanville unis.

I just didn't want anyone bringing it up. It's a sore subject still. I'm in no way disagreeing with you, and if I came across that way, I apologize. This was as much Herm's fault as it was Brien's. Pennington can share in the blame as well with his inability to show up in big games. Though I think that may have more to do with Hackjob and Herm than Chad.

Ok.. I've been able to deal with your Pats hatred till now. But for bringing up this game I now officially despise you. That game hurt me more than the 86 world series.

The psychology effect on the Eagles is so big, they need to mis the playoffs to ever get past the NFC Championship game.

Actually, if I recall correctly, Cowher has beaten a Belicheck team three times in one season--back when he coached the Browns.

I'm a complete newb when it comes to betting on games. I'm trying to understand what the above means if I were to bet $100.

Did I get this right?
NE $100 - $100
PHI $200 - $100
PIT $250 - $100
ATL $350 - $100

If I wanted to place a bet online, does anyone have any recommendations of good sites to do so?

I picked the Steelers over the Falcons btw...

Cowher's record against Beli is some ungodly number like 10-2. The two losses do stand out, however.
