Cut & Pasting from MS Word?

Why is it that every time I try to cut and paste a Word Document I get all kinds of other junk (such as "fficeffice" />>>") other than the text that I pasted in?

For example from my Running to the Hall Dynasty, my latest post would have looked like this had I directly cut and Pasted

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

Atlanta 13-5 @ lace w:st="on">Green Baylace> 13-4

lace w:st="on">Green baylace> has had a particularly productive season running the ball. They use a unique RB by committee approach that sees them with 3 RBs with 500 or more yards this season, all of them having at least a 4.4 yard average. To compliment this running game, the Packers have a solid QB who has done quite respectably this year.

>>

A quick glance shows that lace w:st="on">Green Baylace> has allowed less rushing yards than all but four teams in the NFL. However, a closer look reveals that this is because teams don't run the ball against them very often. The more telling stat is that they allow 4.32 yards per carry, which is worse than all but four teams. They have a great passing defense, particularly getting interceptions. The key to their victory is jumping out to quick leads and forcing teams to turn to the pass, where their spectacular DBs can with the game for the Pack. If we are going to win this week we need to keep up early and not be forced into a passing game.

In the first quarter we again relied heavily on Leland, and he did well. If only the team around him would stop with the silly penalties and turnovers we might have been able to get out to a big early lead. Leland did manage to get us into field goal range, letting us strike first. When then proceeded to trade several punts before the best kicker in league history was able to add another field goal. We did some more trading of punts all of the way into half time. Late in the second quarter Green Bay was able to threaten, but a huge 14 yard sack on third down knocked lace w:st="on">Green Baylace> out of field goal range.

>>

The second half kicked of the way that the first ended with some more 3 or 4 and outs. Then lace w:st="on">Green Baylace>'s RB finally found the hole that he had been waiting for and was able to break loose for 58 yards. We were able to stop him short of the end zone, but he got in on the next play to put the Packers up 7-6.

>>

But we did not despair. We went on a long 18 play drive where we moved the ball 80 yards for our first TD of the day. Nixon was the work horse again on this drive, carrying the ball 15 times on the drive, including the final 2 yards as he plunged into the end zone. Four times we were able to convert on third down.

>>

lace w:st="on">Green Baylace> could not answer on the ensuing drive and we received the ball at the 38 yard line with just over 12 minutes left to play. Our last drive had taken over 9 minutes off of the clock and we were hoping for something similar. This time it didn't take as much time or as many plays, but the result was the same. Nixon carried the ball about half of the plays, including the final 3 yards to score his second TD of the game and give us a comfortable 19-7 lead. The players were jumping up and down with visions of the Super Bowl dancing in their head. The KNEW that this game was all but sealed up, and we on our way to the Big Game. When we intercepted a pass 4 plays later, we all believed that this one was over. Sure we didn't pick up many yards on the next drive, but hey we were able to burn some more time off of the clock. We punted the ball away with a 19-7 lead. Two plays and 72 yards later, lace w:st="on">Green Baylace> was doing the Lambeau Leap, having cut the lead to 19-14.

>>

If lace w:st="on">Green Baylace> could recover the onside kick, they might be able to win the game! We needed to make sure that we recovered the kick...and we were able to do just that. Nixon had a few more carries to eat up the Packers time outs, which he was able to do perfectly. Time expires and:

WE ARE HEADING TO THE SUPER BOWL!

>>

Nixon was again named the game's MVP with 161 yards and 2 TDs on 44 carries. It should be noted that Leland's 44 carries was a postseason record.
