more computer help

mcafee keeps telling me a program "exsvkx.exe" wants access to the internet.

i cant possibly imagine what this is, and ive been slammed with spyware lately. i googled the letters, and the path "c:\windows\exskvx.exe" to no avail.

every time i say "block all access" the damn popup comes back 1 minute later. before i allow it, does anyone even have a guess what this could be? thanks.

So, just to verify, it's 'exskvx.exe'? I've never googled something and not had and results whatsoever.

Not sure how big of a fan of Windows you are, but right off the bat I'd say it might be a good idea to try out Windows' new beta spyware removal program.

try running regedit. then look under hkey_local_machine > software > microsoft > windows > current version > run and see if anything wierd is running there.

Also look in your windows/system32 folder view the files by date, and see if there are any wierd files recently installed. Stuff should not be installed into this directory unless you have installed programs recently.

well, i found the "program" running in my processes. i stopped it and deleted it. no idea if that was smart or not, but it stopped the popup asking it to connect to the internet.

airhog, i looked around that folder, and there was like 5 or 6 things there installed today, but i dont know whats important and whats not...and i dont want to delete anything more than i need to (not incredibly computer saavy).
