BCS Talks underway
I heard on the news today that Talks are underway to change the way things work again. An idea that is really gaining ground, is the creating of a selection committee. This sounds like the worst idea yet. I mean, before the title game was played, I dont believe anyone could make an argument that any of the undefeated teams belonged in the title game any more than any of the other teams.....

Actually, you could, very easily. Just follow the rules that everyone (including the conferences of all three teams, of course) agreed to before the season started on how things were to be weighed and calculated. Then see how those weights and calculations worked out -- and there you have it. See, it really isn't so hard. |

QS: I think you mistook what I was saying. Granted you could follow the rules, and throw human nature out. but giving a select few the power to choose who get to play for the title game seems wrong to me. I think its much different in the NCAA basketball tournament. I personally like using the unbiased opinion of a computer program, and a large sample of data that is the coaches poll...

I love college football but this is getting dumb. Make a damn playoff 6 teams like the NFL reward the top two with a bye... sheesh this is so damn simple. Imagine the amount of money that would be made?

well, at least Mack Brown won't openly have to cry about getting into the BCS. Now he can just do it behind closed doors with large sums of money.
And this will happen. PERIOD! (note: not Mack Brown necesarily, but someone will be able to get to them). |

Children say, "I hate you" to their parents when they really mean, "I don't like your decision." Adults should be beyond that. USC, from Pete Carroll on down, behaved like children over the BCS results last year, not like adults. It is as simple as that. I realize that in today's America, temper tantrums by adults are perfectly normal behavior, however, so in that respect you are correct. |
