I would be out and grabbing it ASAP, except I'm horribly sick right now. It'll be a few days before I can get it.

I pre-paid for it at the same time I bought Halo2 - I'll probably swing by tomorrow and pick it up.

I got a coupon for a free copy. Came with my video card. I'm really not in any hurry to pick this game up, though. I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy for the time being.

I've been waiting for this awhile myself, though the "graphically upgraded" Counter-Strike MP component sounds a bit disappointing for me.
At least I'll enjoy the single player campaign - especially since my modest machine looks like it'll run it rather well! BTW - IGN's got a review out for it already. Guess this is the month of "gaming" for all platforms...

I ended up buying it through Steam. It's "pre-loading" now. 200+ kb/s and it's still just at 0%. This could take awhile. Still will probably be earlier than the next time I could leave the house.

Heh, actually got a copy of this game over the weekend for my birthday. Part of the Best Buy early release fiasco.
Wasn't overly excited about it, just because I'm not a huge FPS fan, but I did really enjoy the first one. I'm more looking forward to Team Fortress 2 being released if that ever happens! Man, now HL2, Vampire: Bloodlines, and the new Pirates hitting within a week of each other! Bad time to be unemployed. |

Too bad the minimum system specs are lightyears away from my computer. I can play NHL2004, I figured I'd be able to play HL2, but apparently not.

This month is going to kill me. This, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metroid Prime 2, potential new Solecismic game...yikes. I'm just glad I don't have an X-Box, or I'd have to add Halo 2 to the list...

I think their whole idea to make a concurent street release was nice, but i imagine their servers are just getting killed right now, and there are a lot of pissed off people on the forums. I hope it loads up for you guys, it would be really frustrating if i were a fan.

Already been playing via Steam. All I can say is it's AMAZING. If you liked Doom3, this blows it out of the water.

I just tried to play Doom 3 on my PC. It was a no go. I could get it run, but it was very sluggish. The ole PC is 3 years old. Question is... Do I invest in a new one?

I had no problem getting it at the exact time of release. Though when it paused on 82% i waited 5 mins instead of what a lot of people did was think it crashes, pressed cancel and complain on the half life forums that steam was crap

To quote Don Vito
"Best Game Ever!" The airboat level is intense..i've never experience something like that in a game. I would go into detail but i dont want to spoil the game! |
