FOFC Keeper League Draft

Ok, draft order has been randomized. I'll keep track of the draft here. Please submit your picks in the following format:

round.pick. (team initials) Player, position, NFL team

So an example would be:

1.1. (BT) Priest Holmes, RB, KC

and so on.

Here is the draft order:

Pick Team
1 Callous Dowboys (JAG)
2 Lathum's Brew Crew (Lathum)
3 Vic's Heroes (MikeVic)
4 The Premature Ghost of Beano Cook (timmynausea)
5 Road Kill Cafe (EagleEye11)
6 All On Black (TheLionKing)
7 DVH's Eruption (DetoxroxDVHStyle)
8 Beat This (Sachmo71)
9 Galloping Ghost (Aylmar)
10 South Side Roughnecks (Eaglesfan27)
11 The Original Trilogy (Honolulu Blue)
12 Siddiqui Sillymen (ISiddiqui)

We'll set an initial time limit of 6 hours per pick until 11 pm CST. We'll officially start again at 8am CST the next day. I will be out of town Saturday, so I won't be updating the draft board on that day. If my pick is coming up, I'll send a list of my picks to a proxy. Anyone who would be willing to do this for me please let me know.

If you will not be avaliable during a certain time, please send me a list of possible players to pick from.

For a list of team summaries, go HERE.

So... pick #1 goes to the Callous Dullboys!]

Wowsers, 1st overall pick. I'm happy to be here...

1.1. (CD) LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, SD

Lathum is on the clock.

sachmo, would it be possible to edit the first post to include the FOFC name running each of the teams (e.g.: Callous Dowboys (JAG)). A few are obvious, but most aren't.

not sure if we are supposed to post opinions in here but I don't like the priest holmes pick @ 2 in a keeper league. He was talking retirement this offseason and is 31, very close to RB retirement age. In a regular yearly league he's a great #1 or 2. I would have taken Portis. Great pick Blade.

Opinions are welcome. So far the best pick of the 1st round is Deuce Mccalister

I wanted Clinton Portis, so I'll say that's the best pick. It's a keeper league and he's only 22.

I see your point, however in defense of my pick you can't argue with the huge numbers he puts up. He also has only been a starter for 3 seasons so he doesn't have the wear and tear of a normal older back.

Lathum, your Holmes pick was just fine. In a keeper league with limited keepers you don't play for 3 years down the road. Your only consideration should be this season with some regard to next season.

Despite the fact that using a normal scoring system Dante Cullpepper has averaged more points per game than Peyton Manning every season he's been a starter (the last four years)? Two of those years, one of which was last season, it wasn't even close.

Well, I'm also the one who took LT ahead of Priest, so take my words with a grain of salt. I personally thought getting Ahman Green at #6 was pretty nice for TLK.

LT was fine choice as was Ahman Green. Im not saying Manning is bad QB (he's #2 on my board) although I've never been a fan of Qb;s in round 1 for most league setups.

I have a confidence problem with Culpepper. Hard to explain.

I usually don't take QB's in the 1st round, but I think he is better than the 9th best RB

1.5. (RKC) Duece McCalister, RB, NO
1.6. (AoB) Ahman Green, RB, Green Bay
1.7. (DVH) Peyton Manning, QB, Indianapolis
1.8. (BT) Jamal Lewis, RB, Baltimore

I'm not anxious to see anyone get screwed over, but unless I'm mistaken Honolulu Blue has about 25 minutes until his 6 hour time limit is up.

He's probably asleep. At this point, the 6 hour limit isn't a hard figure, more of a guideline.

Haveing said that, if you guys wouldn't mind sending a list to a proxy if you have a pick coming up and plan to be away from the computer for an extended period of time, it would be considerate to everyone.
