For some reason, your politics fascinate me. As it happens, in another thread, I had mentioned that I saw you primarily as a Rockefeller Republican who was hawkish on foreign policy issues. That being said, I did not get your stance on supporting a gay marriage amendment wholeheartedly- it seemed almost out of place for the individualistic streak you seem to have and support. Would you mind explaining that ?

Weird to find someone who doesn't fit a sheep-like political profile, isn't it?

hardly that- its just that his beliefs seem a bit across the board, akin to mine. Im a libertarian, epsecially on social issues- I dont think the government has any business regulating marriage or any such thing. I dont think gay marriage should be an issue because I dont think the government shouldnt be able to legislate it. Im fiscally conservative, but I recognize the need for some sort of basic safety net for people. Im not American, but I generally find myself in agreement with American foreign policy. I hate the protectionist stance- Im the ultimate free trader. My biggest beef with America isnt the imperialistic stances on issues, but rather their ridiciulous farm subsidies, which hurt everyone except the big farm corporations, and which create an incentive to overproduce. |
