(Poker) Help Foz get ready for his tournament sunday
I'm in the $500+30.. and haven't had great luck with tournies lately.
So, this is for everyone (especially those who've seen me play) to give me useful advice.

-No matter how obvious you think a play is, take the extra 3-4 seconds to think about it.
-If you're really purely 50/50 on an allin call/fold situation, fold. -try to explain to yourself EXACTLY why you're doing every action you do, before you do it.

Don't rush.
Don't be so aggresive when you do play, at least at the start of the hand. |

Cash out the buy-in and give it to me.
Good luck Foz...you've shown plenty of skill in other tourneys. Play your game, you'll be fine. Last edited by Logan : 07-30-2004 at 09:45 AM. |

I'm very very nervous about this.. this is a big big money WCOOP event. I'll probably spend most of saturday here at work going over the books

You people are not being nearly specific enough to be of any help. Here you go, Foz:
Hand 1: Fold Hand 2: Call Hand 3: Fold Hand 4: Check Raise Hand 5: Fold Hand 6: Fold Hand 7: Raise Big (you are bluffing here, but as tight as this table has been playing, you should be fine.) Hope that it helps. |

With about 2 hours to go until the tourney starts.. here's my thoughts.
I'm really going to have to be patient to do well. My goal is to have a bigger stack at each level, but I can't let it get me into a situtation where I play too agressively. Speaking of too aggresively, I have to learn to fold AK when I don't hit (even if it's three babies on the flop) This tournament will likely take about 8 hours to finish.. so it's a reminder.. "Fast plays=dead player" Gotta take my time (while not dipping into my time bank.. I remember how it helped me in the tourney I cashed in) any and all are invited to IM me on AOL IM or whatever if you want to talk during the tourney, it will likely keep me calm

BTW, I'm in a sit-no-go satellite now.
65+5, table # 2227271 1st place gets and entry, second gets 55 bucks back. down to 5 players, and i'm 3rd stack. wish me luck here, i'd love to play in this thing today. |

there's zero ability to limp right now, and I can't get any action with my good hands... definite uphill climb.

ok. getting it going a little now, and getting these guys off my back at least.
Still 3rd, but not as short-stacked. I like the fact that the other two guys just seem to love going at it, too. |
