^#%## FOF is screwing with my roster before games

FOF continues to mess my roster up before games and I have that option checked "NO" under my global settings! What else could it be!?!?!?!

It's killing me!

Is this happening in multiplayer? If so, your personal settings are trumped by whatever settings the league/commissioner is using.

If this is in single player, then I don't have a good answer for you -- do you perhaps have the "sign players to fill the roster" option selected?

It is multiplayer yes and it can't be the commish's controls because nobody else in my league is having this problem.

Are you acquiring players via trade or FA? If the players being replaced (cut) are on your depth chart or inactive, then I believe the AI scrambles your depth chart with the new additions. The trick is to work it so the new guys are active, but not listed on the depth chart.

At least I think so.

Thanks Cougar, but it is screwing with several positions, not just one.... I am also not signing anyone new or anything. Anyone else?

Make sure you have 46 players active.

Make sure that all slots in your depth chart are populated.

Make sure that if you have a player that is "out" with injury that he isn't left in your depth chart when you export.

Make sure that you have the appropriate number of DT's and MLB's for the defense you are running (3-4 vs. 4-3).

Basically, you have to have 46 players active. You have to have the minimum number of players at each position/position group. You have to have all spots on your depth chart filled (including gunners and such - this can bite you if you have a WR or DB go down with injury). You have to have no more than 7 players inactive. Injured reserve doesn't count against your 7 inactives.

If any of those aren't met, the AI will monkey with your depth chart/roster.

The only thing I can think of after reviewing my roster is my LBs... I run a 4-3... I have 2 of each MLB,WLB and SLB active. That right?

For some reason, it insists on deactivating one of my DT and CB EVERY GAME...

Think I figured it out, have to have 46 active, no more, no less?

Yep, I've been bitten a few times this year because I made moves during the Game-day export phase. You can do it, but the price to pay is the roster shuffle.

The key here is the computer won't just fix the one thing wrong with your roster. If even one thing is messed up (total active players is most common, but wrong number at a given position is next), the scout gets a crack at the whole thing.
