OT - New "long list" puzzle
I’m generally interested in multi-stage puzzles, so I concocted one for you here. I’m not much for recipes, so you’ll have you find your own way. I think this will probably boil down to several people making contributions, and I may have to give some guidance along the way. But for now – here it is:
Tea spilled here. Knute’s forward breakthrough… Sutton quote targets. Value of a horse’s house. Insert the lawn border tool. Endless data. Add that pickle... Hammer's co-star. Give us the razor’s edge. Bald headed comic kid. Distant petrol... Another runner in the night. Inside pitcher. Famously of San Francisco. Keepsake pics kept on a chain. Auction house owner. Not quite on the roof. The entire grooming tool. Port side broom hag. Kid, tell me when it hurts. Gratis patella. Forest extremity. One from a bunch.. “Best in Show” champion. Muppetmaster kin. Transitive participle male, younger. Unlucky day’s threadmaster. First part of sandal brand. Many cookies... Hued city home to World, not Land. Twin city seminary school. '63 charger. Craving for blue jeans. Filly turned five. Sister loves rock and roll. A score cwt of fish... Change from happy meal. Lucky female cat.. Start with Chilean catch. Fast food hair remover. Slippery coating.. Grandma’s sofa. First car at the race’s start. Deck from Love Boat. Kiss my grits, Olivier’s Nazi.. Futile chaser of desert speedster. Twelve angry men, out for blood. Second of S&G’s four herbs. Part of a rhyming Christmas. Girl who hits you like a truck. Not such an old-fashioned sofa.. Cured masonry.. Part of the northland.. Too watery for kindling.. Ferrari’s green model. Grace's tawdry Place.. Parents fans of Dickens miser. Bent firewood stack. Tolstoy epic on syrup harvest. OJ pitchwoman Anita’s offspring. Attractive Copenhagen native. Needs wheel up front to haul. Goliath’s clay partner. Infernal chamber. Overlooks Muskellonge Lake. Before we had windows. How SS Dent’s Xmas tags read. Ocean bugle.. The place to be, if green.. Victory plus football locale. Does planting with a metal staff... Rule regarding dead heats. Cherry center... Calais sculpted subject. Si, oui, of the man. Heartwarming speedskater kin. Has two twin brothers. Brothers let love flow. So, of course, the puzzle is this: Where do I put the ampersand? Last edited by QuikSand : 06-15-2004 at 11:57 AM. Reason: amendment to last clue |

Interesting list. Too bad I'm at work.
The only ones that jump out at me so far are: Bald headed comic kid. - Charlie Brown ? Filly turned five. - Mare ? First car at the race’s start. - Pace car ? Deck from Love Boat. - Aloha deck ? I will be following this one closely. Last edited by SplitPersonality1 : 06-15-2004 at 11:38 AM. |

Knute’s forward breakthrough…
I assume that's "pass" ? Deck from Love Boat. - Aloha deck ? Possibly just Aloha. Something tells me we're looking for one word answers here. "Pole" instead of pole position, perhaps "Brown" for charlie brown? I may be making a big big leap in the wrong direction with taht thought though. |

Sister loves rock and roll. - Joan Jett reference?
Gratis patella. - Free Knee (edit: or, Freeney, as in Dwight. A number of these, like Leftwich, Freeney, possibly Jett, can be the last names of football players. Or first names, as in the case of Sage (Rosenfels).)

Brothers love mountain music.
Alabama sings Mountain Music, the song, but no brothers in that band. googling "mountain music brothers" gives me a lot of hits on the Stanley Brothers. |

This is a reach, but if you have two twin brothers, does that make you a triplet? Any players with the last name of Triplet?
