Question Postseason Problems

It seems that every postseason (and only in postseason), when I allow the CPU to coach my team, it plays most or all of my second-team defense (never offense) for one or more games. My best defenders simply sit, and my depth chart seems irrelevant. What the heck's going on?

Check your Use Injured Players setting in your gameplan before the game... there is a known bug about having it lower than 10(?).

As someone has in the past stated...

'Your starting player won't play because the coach benched him for a hangnail'.

Actually the post season is not only caused by the willingness to play injured players. I have set that at 50 and still seen this problem. It does happen all the team and I haven't figured out the problem except it usually happens when you watch the game but don't call the plays. Because of this I save before each playoff game and will reload. In this case the result has been the same though about 95% of the time though.

Thanks, guys, but neither of these circumstances solve the problem for me. My "willingness" is never below 30, and the phenomenon occurs in almost all postseason games, whether I watch the game or not. Are we to just assume that this is a bug (a pretty major one I'd say!)and that the only remedy is to keep replaying the games til the CPU plays the starting defense?!?

I've noticed this problem, too. I once won a Super Bowl with my backup defenders playing two out of my three playoff games (thank goodness for depth!!). I've also lost playoff games in which my backups get smashed by the opposition (years with not much depth).

I'd say this should be added to the "Feedback" forum for inclusion on a bug list...but what good would that do?

I haven't noticed this problem in my experiences.

However, have you considered putting your subs in the starting slots and having your starters take the backup slots? They won't get the GS counted, but no playoff stats are kept anyways, and at least that way they'll play for you.
