L.T.'s Idea... I Like It!!!

I think that L.T's idea should be a feature in the game...

Lawrence Taylor had a strategy not found in NFL playbooks: He sent escorts to opponents' hotel rooms the night before a game.

"You know what they like, and what type of women they like, and you just call the service," the Hall of Fame linebacker said in an interview that "60 Minutes" will air Sunday on CBS.

Taylor said the plan was to make sure opposing running backs were not ready for the game. The former New York Giants star said the prank was played on him.

"Knock on the door, you open the door, and you got two beautiful women sitting there, (saying), 'We're for you!' And I'm like, 'You're in the right place,''' he recalled with a laugh.

Taylor, who played 13 seasons with the Giants, was the NFL's MVP in 1986 and a 10-time Pro Bowl selection.

Taylor also spoke in the interview about the years right after his retirement, when cocaine took over his life. He said he reached a low point in the late 1990s.

"I had gotten really bad," he said. "I mean my place was almost like a crack house -- not where you sold it, but I had a lot of stuff in my house."

No.

My great-uncle Joe is. I'm sure a lot of you have heard of him, since he's in the Hall.

#56 is your uncle? Really? If so that rocks! I love Joe. He's about as great (and unrecognized outside of Detroit) a player and personality as there could be... Swilling shouldn't have worn 56, but I don't agree with retiring numbers either. The Raiders got it right: You want to wear the number, you better be ready to play up to it.

I'm just fibbing, but my grandpa always told me that Joe was my uncle growing up, so for a long time I thought he was. Needless to say, Joe has always been my favorite football player of all time.

Hey, you never know. I worked at the metropolitan opera once. Got a call for tickets from Sharon Shula. Yep. We talked football a little bit. Too bad she had a boyfriend... It's too bad the Colts hired the Lions defensive coordinator back in the early 60's. True, he only spent one year in Detroit, but if the Lions had made him HC...

I'm related to one of the best defensive players of all time. My dad and him have the same grandparents (whatever that makes them). Old #51 for the Bears.
