Cincinnati Bearcats Roster
QuarterbacksEmerson will be our starter while Rice will be #2 and Gunter will be #3. Running BacksMoe Weaver and Louis Coker are red-shirted. Clifton Houston will be the starter with Wheeler and Romero as the backups. FullbacksXavier McElroy will be the starter. Fox will be his backup with Guerra at the #3 slot. McElroy is a very good runner and will get a lot of carries. Tight EndsDespite the 31 estimate, Wooten looks to be pretty bad. Winborn gets the start with Fletcher as the backup and Wooten #3. Tight EndsBurke and Branda are the starters. First backup is Ferguson, Second is Shaw and Magnuson is the thrid backup. Offensive LineRufus Hall is red shirt-ed. Griffith starts at center, mainly because Clemons has 0 endurance. Sexton and Graham start at G with Samson being the primary backup. Copeland and McDaniel start at T with Bruce being the primary backup. Kickers/PuntersMoney is our punter and Jue is our kicker. Defensive EndsMeier and Wiggens will be our starters. Alston and Van Pelt will split backup time. Defensive TacklesWe're running a 3-4, so only one starting DT. Tough decision here. It's between Cucina and Mathews. They are pretty even except Mathews has a higher run stopping potential, but Cucina has more endurance. I'm going with Cucina and will set his playing time low with Mathews backing him up. At mid season, I'll review and determine a full time starter (or just keep it the same way) Inside LinebackersShawn Hines is a definate starter. Corona is a little better than Bennett in all areas except for run stopping, which Bennett is the clear favorite. Basedon that, Bennett will get the start because of his run stopping ability. Outside LinebackersWe're weak at OLB. Abrams and Walters get the start. Foreman sits at backup (not starting because of weak run stopping ability) CornerbacksMueller and Galloway will start. And they both have high endurance, so they'll be playing a lot. I have no depth here. SafetiesBrowning and Zaragoza will start. I only get them for 1 season each. They are actually better than the estimates show. Last edited by sabotai : 11-03-2003 at 10:37 PM. |

Recruiting Overview
# of Graduating Players: 17 QB Situation: Robert Brady, a backup, is graduating. We are very weak here. I have to go after a QB or else developing a passing game will not be an option. RB Situation: Dixon Romero, a backup, is graduating. We have a freshman RB who is red-shirted who has a lot of potential. Not an area of concern here. FB Situation: Roosevelt Fox, a backup, is graduating. We have a FB, McElroy, who is a great runner, so-so blocker. He is graduating at the end of next season, so if I see a chance to grab a good FB, I need to. TE Situation: Lincoln Winborn, our starter, is graduating. Our TE situation is bad, and I need to get a good one. WR Situation: 4 WR's are graduating, including our two starters. We are in dire need of WR's, but without a good QB to get them the ball, they will be behind the QB in terms of needs in recruiting. OL Situation: No one on the line is graduating. But, our OL stinks, so help here is needed. P/K Situation: Earl Money, our starting P, is graduating. We need a P, we're ok at kicker. DE Situation: Meier and Wiggens, the two starting DE, are graduating. We need DE's. DT Situation: Giffin, a backup, is graduating. We have two decent DTs for this and next season, but to really pull off the 3-4 Defense, you need a monster at DT. If we can find one, we'll go after him. ILB Situation: Bennett and Hines, the two starters, are graduating. This is an area of need. OLB Situation: No one graduating, but our OLB group stinks. CB Situation: Mueller is graduating. We need CB's. S Situation: Browning and Zarazoga are both graduating. We will have 1 decent S left. In every earea where I am good, those players are leaving at the end of this season. Except for FB and RB, every area is pretty much a concern to me. |

Recruiting House Rules
1) I can not call a player more than twice and can not visit them more than twice. 2) No Bribing 3) A recruit must have a GPA of 2.75 and an SAT score of at least 1000. If they're spending all of their time in study hall to make grade, they won't develope fast enough for me. 4) Starting recruiting regions: Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. FOr every winning season, I can expand to one more state. If I win a bowl game, add another state. And if I win the whole thing (National Championship), I extend one more state. 5) I can approach only 1 red recruit every week. 6) I can approach only 1 black recruit every other week (On the odd weeks: 1,3,5,7, etc) |

This is the part of my other dynasty where I used to do a "PrimeTime".
What I was going to do is just a listing of the 5 best players by position. However, I think there is a major flaw in TCY's listing of the best players in a game (an RB that had 3 carries for 3 yards and 0 TDs should be on any "Players of the Week" list) So all I'm going to do is list the top 10 by stats (Top 10 Passers, Top 10 Rushers, etc.) for the season per week. So no week-to-week leaders. At least, not for now. TCY doesn't let you print/copy from the Players of the Week list, so it's a real hassle. |

Final Score: Cincinnati 7, West Virginia 31 Despite the 31 points, I feel good about the defense. I think the problem is the offense is going 3 and out and my D is tired all the time. Only 5 drives lasted more then 3 plays. 6 3 and outs, 1 drive lasted 3 plays and ended on an INT, one drive last 1 play and ended in an INT. Just complete and utter pathetic performance by the offense. |

Week 7: Cincinnati Bearcats (2-3) at Alabama-Birmingham Blazers (1-4)
Pregame Decisions Meier is Quenstionable with a Hip Pointer (6 weeks), so he will sit. WR Kelvin Ferguson is out (8 Weeks) with a Torn Wrist Tendon. He's probably done for most of the remaining season. History and Intangibles Cincinnati is favored by 3 Attendance: 25,600 (83,100) Weather: 47 degrees, rain Result of Last Meeting: First Meeting Record: 0-0 Game Time Alabama-Birmingham won the toss and elected to receive. Code:

On our next drive, we go 3 and out. Our punt is blocked and it manages to get to the 3 yardline. They score easily to make it 24-14. Again, our drive ends quickly and our defense is nonexistant. 8 plays and 80 yards later, and they take a big 31-14 lead. We do manage to get a FG out of our next drive (23 yard FG). Half Time Score: Alabama-Birmingham leads 31-17 Code:
The fumble on the kickoff return and we recover the ball at the 11 yardline. 3 plays later, an 11 yard pass to Shaw scores the touchdown and makes it a tie game at 31. Our defense wakes up this half and stops them cold. We get the ball back and, once again, our offense does its job. A 33 yard FG gives us the lead, 34-31. Code:
The rest of the quarter is uneventful, except for a fumble by Houston that didn't amount to anything for Alabama-Birmingham. But with 2 minutes left, they do manage to finally get in. But we get the ball back and run the clock out. Final Score: Cincinnati 41, Alabama-Birmingham 38 |
