FOF 2k4 - Multiplayer - no Head to Head play calling?
I decided to branch out my response on the sticky note to try to get more response to this.
I am curious about this... I thought head to head play calling would go hand in hand with multiplayer. For example, if you wanted to set up a multiplayer league with you and 2 friends and all the rest of the teams be controlled by the computer...All three of us would gather around one computer and play the games, set up the depth chart, draft, offseason, etc. If there is playcalling like there was in FOF 4, what if one of the league games is against your friend (human vs human) and not against the computer? Then playcalling is not an option? Then you must sim? Is that going to be the case in FOF2k4 If so, that is disappointing and logically, it doesn't make sense not to have head to head playcalling in this instance. Jim stated that multiplayer games would be simulated by a commissioner. To me, that implies no HTH playcalling. |

From the chat transcript:
"Head-to-head play-calling is not an option in the new game."

2. I don't think many people care that it isn't in there. I can't imagine being in a multiplayer league and waiting for everyone to figure when they're going to meet online to play...

What SkyDog said. I think there was a poll when FOF4 came out and the "main" feature was the updated playcalling. The question was do you call plays or just sim games in FOF. It was one of the more lopsided polls we've had I believe...

Somehow many managed to do so with FPS and it was a pain in the ass to play on-line.

I think it is a difference of opinion:
I would find it very enjoyable to play against a GM online in a career league and call every play in the whole game, make subs, and watch the game simulate and coach as the game accordingly as it simulates in front of me. That to me is the ultimate coaching experience. Some may not be interested in that, I am, however, some dont have the patience |
