24 - a "third day" begins
I was anxious to see what they had on tap for "day 3" and it looks quite interesting. Some nice changes (Kim w/ a brain, we hope) and Jack.......poor Jack musta gotten hooked during the off-season.
Should be interesting.

Not bad. Neither of the last two premiere's have even come close to that original season one when the chick does the guy on the plane, parachutes out, and blows it up. Now, that's a way to start a series.

Hey, that reminds me...what happened to that chick? Did her story line end when they waxed her lover? I can't recall... |

You know, I just can't get really excited about this year when last year before the final episode, a friend and I were tossing around ideas of what next year would be about and I said "I just hope it's not some cheesy Outbreak-esque germ warfare things".
That said, I was bored with last year's about 4 episodes in as hackneyed and cliche, but it got much better as the season progressed. SI

They whacked her girlfriend, and then I think they dropped her as well. She took it well, IIRC. |

Actually, they showed that chick in some dramatic role near the end of season 2, so I'd expect her back in season 3 (the chick who blew up the plane, if I remember right).

Never ever seen a single minute of a single episode of that show.
Guess that's what happens when you work six nights a week...

The hot plane chick was also the girl who put the poison on her hand and shook the President's hand at the end of Season Two. My guess is she will make an appearance this season.

You know, I figured out why that show does so well.
I watched it for the first time last night thinking, "this is terrible" The writing was terrible, the camera work made me dizzy, and then there is the "acting" of tortured soul Keifer Sutherland. Of course, despite all that, I will be tuning in next week (and the week after that, etc.) because I have to know what happens. Its ingenious.

Hmm... sounds like a soap opera... Yep, that's what it is although I'm shamed to admit it. I really enjoy the show as cheesy as it often is. Chief's right, the actresses name is Mia Kershner I think. They made a mention in last night's episode that they caught the people who poisoned the President, but I'm agreeing with the others who say she'll be back. |

I missed this one last night. So is it safe to assume that the president didn't die after all? The end of last season was just a tease?

Yeah, which is really irritating. I just hope they eventually tie it in somehow or that finale last year was just a bunch of crap. |

Apparently, he is still ill from the attack, but he didn't die.
Oh, and Jack's a junkie. |

I missed the end of last season. What happened to the President's wife? I hope I don't have to see her this year. I just don't like that kind of woman.

You know, I've never watched 24, and I tried to last night. I just couldn't get into it. Too fake.

Jeeber - my wife and I got the first season on DVD through Netflix. Seeing it all the way through, commerical-free is probably the way to go. |

Does anyone kno of a site that gives a episode-by-episode discussion of what happened in this show?
Mrs Q and I watched the first season, then bailed after about 3-4 episodes of season two. I'm not willing to spend 10 hours of time learning what happened thereafter, but I might be willing to spend 10 minutes or so. |

I also watched it for the first time last night, there were lots of moments that were just stupidly over-dramatic and had me rolling my eyes, but the primary storyline was interesting enough to get me to tune in again to see what's going to happen. |

The thing is, I don't mind watching stupid television. What bothers me is stupid television that takes itself so seriously and somehow manages to garner critical acclaim and an overwhelming degree of hype. |

I also would submit www.televisionwithoutpity.com as a reliable source of "24" summaries, tidbits and lively discussion.

tvwithoutpity is a good source for tons of shows, tho some reviews are more entertaining than others (for instance, the person that does The West Wing is boring, the person who did Sports Night was pretty funny, and the person who did the X-Files was downright nutty) SI
