KB Toys 30% discount until October 11th
THought you guys with kids or odd passions (hopefully not kids) would like to know about this. Evidently KB got sued for price discrepancies, so from now until October 11th (Saturday) everything in the store is 30% off a $30 purchase (excludes video games, systems and gift cards). Since most guys are game players, this is probably not applicable.
But some of you guys have kids, and better to get discounts on potential Christmas presents now than to try and beat the odds later. Or, they have a pretty good selection of board games and similar items. Here's a link to the suit. Last edited by Easy Mac : 10-09-2003 at 09:49 PM. |

BTW, this is actually good October 8-14th, not the 11th as stated above.

Got my Christmas stuff today for the kids. I thought they weren't allowed to advertise the 30% off...
Also, it's an incredible deal because on some things, like Disney stuffed animals, they're running 20% off. Add that savings to 30% off and you have half off some items. |

You know, I don't mind getting 30% off but, man, this was a stupid ruling.

Then again, this works perfect for kb- they haven't gotten huge profits on their toy department the past couple of years and this gets them some pub and some business. As for why video games are at the normal price and not discounted- places rarely make a profit on those. They carry them so someone will come in and buy them, maybe make the store a buck or two and hopefully pick up something with a much higher profit margin. SI

Thats a good point. I wonder what retailers pay for video games? If they're selling Madden for 49.95, I bet their paying around $40-42 in high bulk rates. |
