I have one of these and can honestly say that they really work as advertised. They have a coil inside that fits around the tootsie pop stick - when you lick the tootsie pop you end up pushing the top one way and, with the plastic opening acting as a fulcrum, the bottom of the stick gets pushed against the coil in the opposite direction. When the coil is pushed far enough it registers a "lick" on the LCD readout. Best part: if you find that the tootsie pop was more than you could handle in a single session, you can cover the sucker up and save your lick tally in the chip's memory!
