Well, if you didn't get EP3, they are.

I had the weirdest error today - I tried to start a new league, full detail with random players with Newcastle. I took a quick glance at my new team, and I noticed that the stats were entirely out of whack. I'd have one 20 yr old with 20's in technique, finishing, dribbling, creativity, etc. (wow.) and then I'd look at his physical attributes and see a 1 pace, 1 acceleration, 1 agility. (worth $10 million) Next I noticed that I had about 10 players with a 1 pace. I didn't look at many other teams (why bother) but there has to be something wrong with the curve that is being used to distribute the players.
using v.5 by the way. Anybody else aware of this oddity? Is there a fix for starting new leagues with random players? |

That sounds very very strange - I'll check this, but I haven't heard of this problem from anyone before .... Have you customised the game in anyway (ie. used editors, NOCD cracks etc.) ? PS. Incidentally physical attributes aren't linked to technical abilities (hence you can get a great athlete who is crap at football in the game) .... hence such a 'forced' situation would be impossible, it would be possible that a 'random' player (1 in several million) might have those stats, but it'd be very rare. PPS. Try training the chap intensively in physical stuff (ie. sprints etc.) and if your coaches and training facilities are up to it then he should develop well physically (presuming he isn't terribly unprofessional) and become a true star. unfortunately it wasn't for one player only, and I haven't customized the game at all beyond the official patches. I'll try setting up a new league tonight and see if I duplicate the problem and if it persists after a few days have been simmed.

turns out I was mistaken. I hadn't installed EP5, although I had downloaded it. When I tried setting up a new league, the skills problems were resolved. However, there does seem to be an inordinate selection of younger players now. Lots of talent in the 16-20 age range, much less in the late 20's. Hardly ruins the game or anything, but I wonder if I have to be more careful with my rotations.
