I believe that Herb Brooks is the former coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins and USA Hockey. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also a former coach of the U of Minnesota, most famous for the Miracle on Ice Coach.

Minnesota hockey grieves.

(old timer rant)Dang whipper snappers don't even know who Herb Brooks is. Probably never heard of the TV show SWAT either, or never saw a TV that didn't have a digital tuner....Why back in my day we didn't even have a remote control. If you didn't like what was on TV, you had to get up and walk all the way to the TV to change it. Change it too fast and you would get your ass kicked for trying to break the TV.(/old timer rant)

I do believe this question is grounds for stripping you of your citizenship and exiling you to France.

Herb Brooks:

-longtime University of Minnesota hockey coach
-head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers
-Head Coach of the US 1980 "Miracle On Ice" Gold Medal Hockey Team

Most recently, he coached the 2002 US Olympic Team, in Salt Lake (you remember those games, don't you?) to a Silver Medal in ice hockey.

Right, I'd forgotten about that. Wasn't with either one too long, though he was with them for longer than the Penguins.

I'm in Louisiana and hockey's popularity down here is rather minute. So I don't hear too much about hockey if it's not on ESPN. And I never heard much about Brooks on ESPN until today.
