Who knew?

Wow, it appears as though FOFC's very own mrskippy was the inventor of the text-based sim.

Dola - mrskippy is just as much a god of text-based sports sims as Al Gore was inventor of the internet...

Click on his quote, it is a link.

However, you have been warned. I followed that path and lost a few hundred brain cells in the process.

Put it this way, I did write to the game companies. And in high school I did so some Quick Basic stuff in an effort to design a text-based sim, RPG. A casino one to be exact. I got as far as Keno, BJ, and slots. Never was able to incorporate the RPG elements the way I wanted and scrapped the project. Afterall I was only in high school and was only required to write a simple working program.

BTW When is it wrong to be excited about a computer game?

Can't I be excited about a game?

How many of you haven't been excited about Jim's new games when they are announced?

Duh duh duh ... Bueller, Bueller, Bueller ...

And how many of you got the illegal FOF download when EA put it up before they were supposed to?

Uh huh, uh huh. Who's the bitch now?

5 1/4 inch disk from the dead teacher who kept the disk at the end of the semester. And besides, it was unfinished. I only finished the basics (What is your name? How much money do you have? What game do you want to play? Than the random stuff for the casino games.) And it was very basic shit. But to say I wasn't thinking sim back than would be an understatement.

My wishes for a text-based sports game came from the countless years I'd spend sitting there with the old board game (I think it was a Milton Bradley game) back in the early 80s and than the Classic game in the late 80s/early 90s. I used to try to sim seasons on paper, sign players and shit like that. Than I played games on the NES and wondered how cool it'd be to have a career sim video game.

This is the kind of stuff that would make a suicidial guy laugh. But not in the crazy, I am going to kill myself laugh, the ha ha, this is funny, why should I die, because life is filled with great stuff like this. But then he could think, maybe this is the best it can get and kill himself.

Well, it doesn't matter, he is laughing and that is all that matters.

I believe UIC is unintentional comedy. So to answer you questions in order, never, except when it exceeds your excitement of seeing a woman naked, which I believe it has. Yes. That one is kind of tough, does that include people who haven't been informed of the game or just us who know? Please clarify. UIC is obviously a college you are too dumb to know about and I am not clever enough to think of a funny name for.

UIC = Universal Idiot College

I never brought up naked women photos. It would depend who was in them.

Hell, I'm excited, looking forward to, can't wait to see, Jim's new game.

For a 'Christian', you certainly take the Lord's name in vain frequently.
