EA Sports World
My brother and I got this idea to run a fantasy sports world, played on EA sports games for PS2, concurrent with real life. We've put together a website for our little electronic world at www.cs.colostate.edu/~fanchi As always, we've included ourselves in the games. I'll let you figure out who we are (shouldn't be hard). We're currently playing a dynasty for the Oakland Athletics on MVP Baseball 2003 and have just caught up with real life. We've found the game rather easy, so the A's record is a little inflated (100-8). Also, we're both breaking NCAA rules by playing professional baseball while also playing college football, but what are you gonna do?
I'd love to hear everyone's input. Let me know what you think.

That's quite ambitious. However, can you sim games instead of playing them? That way you get a more accurate feel of the teams you built. The 100-8 record seems a bit, well, crazy

Yeah, it is crazy, but playing the games is the fun part of it! When we get to the other sports, the records should be MUCH more realistic. For one, the football titles by EA are more difficult, so we should have more of a challenge with them. Also, for hockey and basketball, we'll probably be simming a good number of the games as my brother and I are less interested in those sports than in baseball and football.
Thanks for your input. It's much appreciated!

The Rockies 72-39? There goes the credibility right out the window.
Seriously, nice site and cool idea.. As SI mentioned SIM'ing the Games while you GM one on the teams may be a bit more realistic, although who knows, maybe one of these days the New York Crouch-Yankers will actually buy every great player in the game and actually start out a season 100-8.

Yeah, I'm just as surprised by the Rockies as you are. They've done it without making any big trades, either. In fact, they've been playing without a shortstop for half of the season! The game does have its flaws, but it's one of the more realistic out there, easily the most realistic I've played on a console. And it's quite entertaining as well.
For those of you following, the site has been updated with today's game against the Yankers.

Dola:
Do you live on campus at CSU? I went there for a year way back in 95-96 and lived in Newsom Hall. Ahh, the games of Techmo Super Bowl that we used to play. No wonder I only lasted a year there...

I'm living off-campus right now, but as a frosh I lived in Parmelee.
Hopefully the Astros will turn it around.

The website has been improved. I've added a sports ticker at the bottom. Updates have been done daily and will continue at that pace.
