Vote on which you think is the best rivalry in college football..

I personally think Michigan/Ohio State, but I am biased.

I added Army vs Navy mainly because I think it's a fun game to watch, and for the most part competitve, and with all the history of it, I feel it deserves to be on there, but meh, I could be wrong.

Notre Dame-USC isn't even USC's best rivalry.

I, too, am biased, but not too many rivalries are as bitter as USC-UCLA. I won't compare it to others, because all fierce rivalries have their stories and moments, but we got USC-Notre Dame beat at least.

Heh, sorry about that, USC/UCLA doesn't get as much press in Michigan, and with both teams slumping in spurts during the last decade, I guess I kinda' forgot.

UT vs. OU...

I'm not a sooner nor am I a Longhorn, but if you've ever seen this game, it is just flat-out incredible...

- neutral site

- night before in downtown Dallas

You forgot Auburn vs. Alabama - one of the fiercest rivalries and Auburn vs. Georgia - the oldest rivalry in the south.

Miami/Florida State, if for no other reason than this one ALWAYS means something on the National Level..

You can't say the same of any of the other 4 over say the last 15 Years.. not for each and every single season you can't..

Chief, I'm guessing you're coming at this from the UCLA perspective. I've seen this discussed on USC boards a number of times and USC fans clearly see ND as a bigger rivalry. UCLA is a big one, and they don't like you guys, but ND is simply bigger. I love that rivalry as well. It has had so many legendary games and quite a few national titles have been decided by that game.

Miami and Florida State is the most important because the last couple of years the winner played in the title game.

I couldnt agree more. They are the true meaning of Student Athletes. If you ever get a chance to read the book "Civil War" by John Feinstein I suggest you do it. Made me appreciate those men a great deal more.

so Always = last 15 years?

Auburn/Alabama and Army/Navy are a clear cut above all other rivalries.

Scooper, you need to understand the mentality of a Trojan. They don't consider UCLA a football school, regardless of past history. Now, if you are one of the storied football programs, you do not want your greatest rival to not even be a traditional football school. USC fans claim ND is their biggest rival, but they'd rather lose to ND then UCLA any day of the week. I think that is a key element

That's pretty much the way I thought it was. Man, the USC game gets my blood boiling. I love that rivalry. Hopefully the Irish are able to return the favor this year.

I hate USC, but there is no team I hate more than Notre Dame. Sorry, but don't count on them beating USC this year....

I'm not counting on anything, bu they very well can beat them, if the offense shows some consistancy.

In half of last year's 10 wins, the Irish were underdogs.

Most of the rivalries you mention are genteel compared to the Thanksgiving Day bloodshed this is a Wildcats-Sun Devils tilt.

Fights in the stands, guys throwing golf balls from the upper deck onto the benches, bench clearing brawls and this often happens during the first quarter.

The game also features the oldest rivalry trophy in the NCAA, the Territorial Cup.

Although it isn't the best one, Cal-Stanford has had some pretty memorable games, and they also have played eachother over 100 times.

I voted for Oklahoma and Texas. Both have had great teams for a long while and it's usually a pretty good game to watch.
