New Star Soccer: Shane Kormelink

Like illinifan, I will write about my mini-dynasty, in my journey to be a soccer star using New Star Soccer.

Nationality: American

I negotiate my first ever contract with Kettering to be $1,250 weekly for 3 years.

I set my player skills to be a scorer who is weak at finding his teammates and stopping other players to start off, as I am playing on hard, I feel this is the best strategy.

Kettering v. Farnborough
I make two solid passes, both of which lead to goals for us, and although I take two shots and come up empty both times, we take this one, 2-0. In the 85th minute I pickup an injury.. I'll miss two matches.

While I am out we lose twice.

As I walk through the library (I must be bored while I'm injured!), I see a pretty girl who gives me a smile. I decide to let her go and not ask her on a date. I don't need to worry about a relationship just yet.

Kettering v. Barnet
I don't get many opprotunities but when I do, I did alright. I made one solid pass but got tackled while trying to get by a defender. HARD definately makes even the low levels a challenge. We tie 3-3.
MATCH RATING=5

Kettering v. Yeovil
In a defensive game we win 1-0 via a nice pass from me, not an assist but I helped the play along. I am struggling with my own offensive skills, unable to even get in position for a good shot.
MATCH RATING=5

Kettering (2-1-2) v. Telford (3-0-2)
Neither squad can muster any offense and we tie 0-0. I shoot once and get it blocked, and make three bad passes. My team is losing confidence in me.
MATCH RATING=3

Sept. 28, 2002
Kettering (2-2-2) v. Southport (0-4-2)
Just what I need! A winless club to play against. 20 minutes in, I take an open shot and score my first goal! GOOAAALLL!! Later on, I manage a nice pass down the middle and we score again. Yet, we still end up with another tie, 2-2.
MATCH RATING=8!

Kettering (2-3-2) v. Nuneaton (5-2-0)
I get few balls, with no shot opprotunities, but make 3 solid short passes in our 1-0 shutout over the previously undefeated squad.
MATCH RATING=6

Oct. 12, 2002
Kettering (3-3-2) v. Morecambe (4-2-2)
I make 3 solid passes and dribble well, but terribly mess up my shot and fail to stop a Morecambe player in our 3-1 win, resulting in my bad rating.
MATCH RATING=5

Oct. 16, 2002
Kettering (4-3-2) v. Leigh RMI (7-2-0)
Undefeated Leigh RMI is certainly going to be our biggest challenge yet. Down 1-0, I take the ball by four defenders and strike it into the goal at 87 minutes, and we tie the Conference leaders, 1 apiece.
MATCH RATING=7

Oct. 21, 2002
Kettering (4-4-2) v. Hereford (5-4-1)
We get smashed, 3-0. I lost the ball on numerous occaisons and messed up two perfectly good free kicks.
MATCH RATING=4

Oct. 26, 2002
Kettering (4-4-3) v. Forest Green (3-1-7)
We win 3-0. 3 goals we scored. 3 goals I SCORED. It seems I kept getting open within 20 yards of the goal. 4 shots, my first 3 went in. MAN OF THE MATCH!! I decline an interview. I have plenty of time to be famous.
MATCH RATING=10
