It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Whatever version of Front Office Football you play (or played), what part of the professional football season do/did you enjoy the most, a part of your sim game experience?

I said the rookie draft, although I'd have to say that combined with the free agent process. To me, the heart of a pro football management sim is filling holes in the roster and planning ahead, so that's where the biggest emotional payoff is for me.

Oh, and so this is what it's come to? QuikSand posting polls? And to think I respected you!

I swear, I thought this was going to be a poll about the hockey thread and whether to retire it.

Yeah, that didn't strike me until after I had posted. Sorry 'bout that.

Actually, I'm trying out the "deceptive thread title" stategy to see if I can sucker a few people into reading my beloved poll.

Finally! A great poll! I laughed, I cried, I shouted out with joy! A smart one indeed with a witty ending. A rollercoaster ride of emotion! If you partake in only one poll this year, "It's the most wonderful time of the year..." poll is it. 2 thumbs up!!!

Okay, I was bored....

Hmmm. QuikSand has posted a poll. It must be becoming socially acceptable to post polls again! This is my chance....

I said analyzing game results and stats. I wish I could have said the rookie draft or even free agency, but there's just not enough to either of those sections of the game to make it interesting enough IMO. If either of those sections were deeper, they'd definitely be more interesting for me.

I said rookie draft... but I also kinda like the period right after the draft - signing undrafted rookies, and analyzing the roster after the new talent is there to see what's really left over right before training camp.

Resist the urge. It's not worth it. What are you doing in here anyway? That's like someone trying to quit drinking who hangs out in bars.

Close call between:
"The rookie draft - signing young players"
"The free agent process - signing veteran players"
-and-
"So, this is what it's come to... QuikSand posting polls. And to think I respected you."

But I just had to go with the Draft.

The rookie draft would be the #1 without any doubt.

After the last option that is; Sand, shame on you.

The rookie draft. I love to try to build a team mainly from a draft. It is also great to find those late round gems that turn out to be great starters.

Seriously though...

I love the draft and the free agent period, but my vote goes to the actual simming of the games. Seeing how my playes "gel" once I get them all on the field together is the best. I love seeing my rookie get 100 yards for the first time, or the QB that I'm grooming throw for 3 TDs without an INT for the first time.

Great poll idea QuikSand.

I think I'm as excited as I can be when the Draft board comes up and I can finally analyse which players I'm gonna get based on my team's needs.

I voted for the DRAFT as my clear cut #1
#2 would be the FREE AGENT process and SIGNING VETERANS
I would complete my podium by adding #3 analysing the games' results & stats.

I said draft, but the most fun for me is looking over my roster right after training camp to see how my players and draft choices have panned out. Signing some bum after the draft, then having him rack up a major break-out in camp is probably one of the best feelings in the game.

I also like to watch all my games, and a late comeback to win an important game is a rush.

I also enjoy looking over the new career/game/season records lists. Fun stuff.

Tough choice for me. I too selected the rookie draft, but like so many others, it is a combination of filling holes and seeing how things turn out.

Yes, the previous sentence is a run-on, but it is 2AM and I don't care what the grammar police say or do at this hour.

BTW, a poll from Quiksand? What the heck is this world coming to.

Kodos, when you come up with a worthy poll, such as this one, you can start posting them again. Until then, don't you dare!

And Fritz,
This poll is not asinine
