Dammit. I gotta get DirecTV! Damn my north-facing apartment!

As an unrelated side note, I saw Dan Patrick and Sean Salisbury at O'Hare yesterday. Salisbury is tall!

Yep. Best investment EVER. And now I get the hockey and baseball packages as well. My DirecTV bill is over $100 a month, but it's worth it - although I should probably drop the HBO package I have, since I never watch it.

I have actually considered moving just to get a place that faces the right direction so I could get DirecTV... The Sunday Ticket package would be the best present ever for me. No more stupid Bears games every damn weekend.

I have Dish Network, which is nice, but I wish you could just get DirectTV with ONLY the Sunday Ticket package, no other channels.

Only thing I use TV for anyway. 'Cept bowling. When the hell is PBA TV gonna get here?

I hear Dish network is a better deal.

Except for the fact that they have no NFL Sunday Ticket.

If it weren't for that, DirecTV would probably go out of business.

Actually, according to the bottom of this http://www.nfl.com/ticket from NFL.com it says you can just order the sunday ticket. you would still need to buy the dish though.

I've had Direct TV for 4 or 5 years. Strictly because of the Sunday Ticket package.

Why?

Unless you happen to live in a market where your favorite team plays...

I live in the LA market. We don't *have* a team, as such.

But no, I just didn't find Sunday Ticket to be worth the dinero, so no go.

Ah... even better... you get the best games every week for free anyway.

This is why people in LA don't want the NFL to come back... they'd get either a crappy expansion team or some castoff that some other city didn't want - and they're better off watching the good games they have on TV.

that sucks. But I guess it doesn't bother me that much that I DON'T HAVE SATALLITE TV SO I CAN'T WATCH THE NFL NETWORK

I think I'm taking it well....

For all those who don't have Direct TV, don't worry because Cable TV is getting more and more like Direct TV. I already have NBA season pass on cable, so the NFL won't be far behind.

Would now be a good time to once again point out that, in Canada, we get Sunday Ticket on cable?

I'd make some witty comment about Americans, but I don't want to get shot.

When will this thing be availalbe in Europe..in France ???
common I would PAY twice the package for a shot at it.

would even pay twice the Direct TV amount for a mediocre quality Web telecast of 49er Games...

I would definitely get DirecTV for all the football stuff, save for two reasons:

1. I go to every Lion's home game so I would realistically only be able to watch half the games.
2. There's a great sports bar near me that has about a dozen big-screen TV's and about 40 smaller ones, so you can just sit in one spot and literally watch all the games at once, and there's no charge except for what you eat/drink.

But if I ever move out of the area I would absolutely have to get it. I seem to recall also that they did a preview of the NFL Channel on DirecTV a few months ago; I was visiting a friend in Toledo and we spent about four hours watching it, so it seemed pretty good.

You'll have to wait until 2006.
