CM4: EP4 problem

After playing EP4 for a good while, I just came accross a bummer of a bug, and was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar. I tried looking through the SI forums, but that place just gives me a super unboner.

I started a new game, managing Pro Sesto in the Italian Serie C2/A, and finished the season at 8th place, which the ownership ad supporters were pleased with. But, after the season is complete I receive a news item telling me that Pro Sesto's manager's contact has expired. This dude was strangely enough, not me, and his name had never been listed in the staff screen all season long. 'Strange' I think to myself, and consider with my offseason activities...and then something even weirder happens.

About a month before the beginning of the season, Pro Sesto hires another manager. Coincedently, this dude is also not me, and my name is no longer listed in the staff screen. However, it appears I can still make offers to players, and training changes, so I can live without the credit. Things quickly go from strange to awful, as this douchebag begins to remove my offers to players, and now the training button is greyed out.

I don't know quite where I stand, because the club confidence screen still tells me Pro Sesto is delighted to have me as manager, but I have now lost the ability to do anything managerial....can't even change player positions or squad assignments. It appears the game still regards me as the manager of Pro Sesto in name only, and it kind of sucks the fun out of the game if the only interaction you have is pressing the continue game button. I would take a job with another Italian team, but I'm afraid of wasting another season and having the same thing happen.

I guess the safest thing to do would be to start a new career outside of the dreaded Italian leagues, but it sucks to lose all that time and effort.

Anybody else have any experience with this problem, or at least have some kind words of conolation?

That's really weird. Are you sure you're not on holiday? Is the assistant manager set to handle everything?

If not, then this is really awful! I feel your pain...

Nope, not on holiday, and I didn't even have an assistant manager all year. In a last ditch effort to rectify/analyze the problem, I resigned from the club, hoping it might remove the imposter manager as well. Resigning DID remove the faux manager's name from the staff screen, and Pro Sesto are now listed as needing a manager. After reapplying for the managerial position, it has been a few months, and it appears the club is quite content operating with a phantom manager. Pro Sesto can put 'em in their mouth and suck 'em.
