Bush Falls Off Segway
All politics aside, this is pretty damn funny. Sounds like it hasn't been a great vacation for the commander-in-chief. Bush Golfs, Fishes, Tumbles on Holiday Weekend |

Like Ford is known for tripping down the stairs to Air Force One, Clinton getting his leg humped by Buddy the dog and Johnny Benson (not a president) is known for crashing every week in races this by far overshadows them all.

I am a fan of President Bush...but man I hate politics. The stupid release by the democratic representative is ridiculous (and I know both parties do this type of thing). Is the President supposed to "work" 24/7? I wonder if he put out a similar release when Pres. Clinton was busy getting hummers?

On a non-political note, doesn't this incident damage the perception of the Segway as something that anyone can operate without incident? If I'm an elderly person seeing this, I'm having some second thoughts about whether this thing is safe for me to use. Unless of course you assume that Bush is completely clumsy and uncoordinated, but then I suppose that gets back into politics...

Oh, and for those who feel he deserves a vacation (myself included...heck, a really, really long one would be just fine ): my understanding is that over the next couple of weeks it's going to be less "vacation" and more "fundraising." |
