Ummm somebody tell Gore that he doesn't have to run directly into the abyss each time.

How about waiting and finding the hole

Well, its hard to blame Gore, when my grandmother knows they're going to run - its awful play calling. Pass the ball once; it won't kill you.

Not a great game from the Giants. Would have liked to see more of a killer instinct in the second half but will take the W. Overall the receivers looked good.

I was at a bar with no sound, anyone know what was wrong with Nicks?

I'd really like them to start utilizing Davis more. For all the talk of Vernon finally "turning it around" this pre-season, he was a nonfactor today.

Big win. The pass rush was amazing. I haven't seen that from the Niners in years. If they can do that all season, this team might win the division (provided the running game isn't a disaster like it was today)

Eh? He was pretty much Hill's main target. He didn't make any huge plays, but he was around the ball more than he has been in either of the previous two season.

Considering it was the first game of the yr, I was rather pleased with the performance. Obviously, they should have blown them out, but I have all the confidence that they will be able to capitalize as the season progresses.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear anything about Nicks. Doesn't look good though, but then again, Polamalu's injury looked a lot worse than it turned out.

From what they were saying during the game, it seemed like his left ankle rolled under whoever it was that fell on it. He needed two teammates to help him, since he couldn't put any pressure on it. They showed him with crutches after, but I don't think they said anything specific.

*sigh* not a good start for my beloved Cards-looks like they miss Todd Haley-Hightower being the lead receiver when you have Fitz and Boldin is not a good sign. Plus they need to find someone who can actually keep the defenders off Warner.

Nicks sprained his foot, x-rays negative

Actually, late in the game when you're trying to protect the lead, I think dancing around the backfield is a bad idea.

Jay Cutler almost throws a pick on back to back plays, then the Packers finally decide to catch one Three consecutive plays.

Considering Coffee's preseason, I'm kind of surprised he only got one carry. The more SF wins, the less leverage Crabtree has, and I can't imagine sitting out a year is going to work out in his favor.

Bears really lucky to only be down 3-0 at this point...Johnny Knox and Adewale Ogunleye are the only guys to show up so far.

Cutler is such a whiny little bitch. I can't think of the last time I wanted somebody in the NFL to get hurt so badly. But i'll settle for a bunch of interceptions instead.

In Jay's defense, he has been out of sync with a number of his receivers tonight. Plus, INT #2 was a great play by Jolly. But he has not been careful with the ball at all tonight.
