OK.. A few things here:

1) Jolie/Pitt in the categories they are in is a bit of a waste. Especially, IMO, because they appeal to an older crowd than Radii (and most?) seems to think
2) Is it "Appeals to Older Men/Women" or "Appealed to older men/women when they were young". Selections of dead people or very old/near dead people is confusing me. Should it be people that are currently appealing to older men/women?

I'm normally with you on your tastes in women, but we part ways with Stokke.

rule clarrification please.
Are we picking based on todays status or at a given time.
There has been ssome discussionof the monroe/dean dead celebs, but also ones who are still alive and well past their prime. Can we pick a certain actress and name the era we are referring to?

I think the only question is in the "Attractive to Older Men/Women" category. And in that case it just needs to be up to the voters -- st.cronin made the category very vague and its too late to make a clarification now. Ruling one way or the other could really screw earlier selections. I think in the other categories dead/past their prime celebs are certainly acceptable, the question is just how "Attractive to Older Men/Women" should be interpreted. I am merely trying to make the "voters" cognizant of the varied interpretations.

Yup. Definitely should be up to voter interpretation at this point. I think the selection rules say you select a person. It says nothing about being able to cherry-pick a period of their life.

I think if you pick someone, it will be seen for what it is.. If you pick some 80 year that was a sex symbol from 1940-1960 I think people will figure it out. That's why I picked Grable in the older men cat... whole group of WWII vets that had her pinned up everywhere.

Indeed. But go to a college campus and ask them who the sexiest woman/biggest sex symbol is and how many will say Angelina Jolie? (Maybe a lot and I'm just wrong and bitter that I gambled too long on selecting her)

You'd all better hope that is how the voters think. Otherwise, Monroe probably isn't as big a sex symbol in her current skeleton form.

Personally, I think Redford and Welch are perfect types for this category (I think of "older" as being 60+ for these purposes). Ford isn't bad either, and I can think of a couple more along those lines. Bogart and Valentino, not so much.

And she's very consistently voted at the top by all those magazines (including ones like Maxim which skews very young).

It's the lips man. I'm sure she has a mouth like a vacuum but I agree, she isn't a huge turn on for me. But I wouldn't toss her out of bed either.

I imagine that the morning after being in bed with Jolie would consist of removing the sheets from your ass, taking off the gag ball, writing letters of apology to several neighbors and returning the goat to the pet store.

Probably the turn on for some people... see seems like she would be exceptionally freakish in bed.

The way I interpret the younger/older categories Shia is the closest match in younger, with Alba coming next. For the older I think the Ford, Welch and Redford matchup to how I view the category. I think this one was poorly labeled, though.

Other thoughts:

* like the Lolita pick

* also like the Phoebe Cates pick

* I think Pamela Anderson would have been better suited for "no-talent"

* Jessica Simpson would have been to, had she not been blocked

* Wonder Woman...I'd wondered about comic books for "literary", but for another character, and for who that might knock out. WW was better on both counts though IMO.

Seriously man....quit trying to think and interpret things so much. It's suppose to be a fun draft. It's getting to the point where you are subtly forcing how people should look at categories.

I have. Even ran one...remember the Hockey one where you had the issue with me running it because the voting wasn't established.

If someone doesn't like my picks...who gives a shit. I'm doing this for fun, to kill some time. If I win I'll treat myself to a Blizzard at DQ, if I lose, I'll do the same thing. But I am not going to sit here and lobby and tell others how to perceive these categories.

And I have and I have run one. The fun of it for me and many other people is discussing the selections. If all we did was make picks with no discussion this would be boring as hell. If there is an ambiguous category (as there was in the draft I ran), people are going to argue about how to interpret it. And of course people are going to lobby for what favors them the most. You can enjoy your draft your way, and I can enjoy it my way. I'm not sure why you have this venom for me when I am not the only one arguing about categories and selections.

dola: I had an "issue" because a draft had just finished where people were discussing having the "winner" of that draft run the next one and you started the hockey draft on top of it. I mentioned it once, maybe twice, and let it go.

I feel like I'm uniquely qualified to say things like this:

- Factoring in draft position, Shia Labouef at 1.1 was the worst pick in FOFC draft history

- Drafting an all-male team in a draft that will be voted on almost exclusively by men is the worst strategy in FOFC draft history
