On the bright side, the weather in Texas in January might be okay.

I almost hate to bring this up, but ...

http://www.texasbowl.org/
NFL Network is the exclusive broadcaster of the Texas Bowl.

The Texas Bowl can only be seen on NFL Network. If you don't have NFL Network, you won't get the Texas Bowl. Call your local cable provider and ask for NFL Network now.

Schiano doesn't call the plays. And Rice and Leonard were both on the field for the last play. They were splitout as receivers.

Yeah, and word is the NFL has NO interest in distributing the game to local outlets for the schools involved. It's been brought up at Missouri since MU is a possibility for the Insight.com Bowl. A network spokesperson said the NFL was honoring its longstanding agreement to locally broadcast NFL games over the air, but when it acquired the college games it was to sell the network.

Nice call, whoever, then.

Call me old fashioned, but if I had one play to tie a game, I'm giving it to either my Heisman candidate or the team's emotional leader...not splitting them out wide and going away from the team's bread and butter.

I agree with that. Craig Ver Steg does a few things well, but I'd like to see a change made. Bring in Rick Neuheisel. Or anybody for that matter.

Is Clemson the ACC team in the Gator Bowl? The word in Big 12 country is that Texas is going to the Gator Bowl if Clemson is in, but if Clemson doesn't go to the Gator Bowl then they would probably take a Big East team. The Gator Bowl gets to jump in at No. 4 in the Big 12 if it wants to, and right now that's holding up where all the Big 12 teams will go.

I'd love for West Virgnia to go to the Gator Bowl, because that way Texas can go to the Alamo Bowl. The Sun Bowl has said they will take Missouri if they can. If Texas goes to the Gator Bowl, the Sun Bowl is out of the picture and Tech will probably go to the Alamo Bowl. The Insight.com Bowl is next, and as mentioned above I don't want Missouri going to the Insight.com Bowl because it's on the invisible NFL Network.

It seems that Georgia Tech is going to the Gator Bowl. At least that's what I read in one of the blogs on ESPN.com

Actually, I think the kid at Wake is going to be pretty good (he ain't half bad now).

On the other hand, I think I might take Brown over the starting QB's of a lot of teams.

I'd point more to some of the things we did offensively in 2005. Ryan Hart was great at throwing the screen pass. Teel, not so good. I don't know why Harris dissapeared from the offense completely. None of these recievers will make anyone forget about Tres Moses either.

At this point, I really wish GT would just decline a bowl bid altogether. And I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.

"I don't even care," running back Tashard Choice said of Tech's bowl destination. "I really don't care no more. Whatever bowl we go to, we'll go there and try to win it, but I wanted to go to the Orange Bowl."

"What bowl is left?" linebacker Philip Wheeler said. "I wanted to go to the Orange Bowl, but I guess I can throw that out the window now."

“I don’t forget anything,” said defensive tackle Joe Anoai. “Someday I’ll look back on this, and … it’s a lack of offensive production. The defense can’t do everything.”

“It’s hard to go out there and give everything you have,” said linebacker KaMichael Hall, “and the last second runs off the clock and then you lose.” ...

“I don’t think it’s a breakthrough season,” said Hall, an icepack on his damaged ribs. “It’s not a breakthrough season if you can’t finish. We didn’t win a rivalry game and we didn’t win the ACC championship. It got away from us.”
