Wow - I'm a huge office fan, and I'd give it a shot, but I'd be disappointed if she was the hire. I wonder if they're having trouble filling the role? I was hoping for Will Arnett, but I see he's in his own show this fall. Maybe there's nobody out there? |

Tate would seem like an odd choice...I'd rather they hire within if that is their decision, heh

Honestly, my guess would be they wouldn't want to pay big money to someone, and they are afraid to hire someone who would demand a lot of air time. The show doesn't make the kind of money that they can keep the ensemble happy, and then pay someone a million dollars an episode. There probably big names that would do it, but not at whatever the cast's going rate is. |

I'd prefer Arnett or Spader, but pls not Tate (nothing against her, but that cameo was annoying).
As for the Gervais stuff, I didn't take it that bad. The dude did actually help create the original, so he should get some slack. I took it that he was saying he cut it off after 16 or so episodes for 'artistic' reasons and that yes, he could have milked it but he didn't. The follow up is going after 150+ episodes so naturally it gets a bit watered down. He's still listed in the credits so he's getting $$ for the show ... he cant' be complaining too much. Regardless, those saying he's not funny should go watch the original office, or Extras or the podcasts, etc... |

I liked the finale.. I think Jim is the one who gets hired.. although that makes no sense.
Creed was great.. was very excited to see more of him. I'm still laughing.. when he was having that meeting and didn't tell anyone and was rattling the names off.. good suff.. lol |

No to the English woman. Too mannered and stylistic, much like Ricky Gervais in his bad bits.
No to Creed. He's great in small doses, but not enough substance to carry a show. He needs to be in the background doing things. Andy might make it, but he would need to change to his character from Cedar Rapids. He was brilliant in that movie and could bring that form of sincerity to The Office and still keep the comedy. Yes to James Spader. Him staring down Dwight is the stuff of a great season. Yes to more interviews of famous business leaders in the early shows. Warren Buffet poking fun at his 'Cheap Bastard' image was a highlight for me. Bill Gates coming on and pushing paperless offices in his interview would be terrific. Jim Kramer from Mad Money would be a cool bit, too.

Ahh cool, not at all what I was expecting, but really enjoyed his character. Curious to see how Dwight reacts to him.

I like it. I thought he was fantastic in the finale and from what I have heard, they are basically going to spin it as them hiring him for the manager job, but them him deciding that that is too "small" for him and essentially demanding the CEO job. I hope this means that they go inside for the manager job then (Andy or Darrell) instead of another "name".

Very pleased with the premiere. It was much better than any of the post-Michael episodes last year. Spader fit in very well and I think Andy is a great choice as the boss.

Not too bad. It is weird how different James Spader looks at this point, compared to young James Spader. He almost looks like Darrell Hammond now.
I liked Stanley's new catchphrase (and that he explained it) and that Spader's list had "Old Man" or "Old Guy" on it for Creed. |

I'm somewhere in the middle on this. It was better than some of the episodes from last seasons from the guest stars, but still falling fairly short from the middle seasons.
I don't know if it's just me, but Jim/Pam really really annoy me at this point. Jim isn't bad by himself, but Pam really adds absolutely nothing to the show, and hasn't for some time. I'm secretly hoping they write her out of the show after she has baby #2. |

I enjoyed it - a little different, but I definitely giggled like a schoolgirl when Dwight led the attack. I don't know if there's a real storyline that extends this more than one season, but we'll see.

Definitely a promising start. Spader fits in well, and giving Ed Helms the chance to blend in his character from CEDAR RAPIDS is wonderful. Kevin with the In Crowd was chuckle worthy. The planking was a bit overdone, but could have been worse, and was in keeping with The Office traditions of internet crap.

This was, to me at least, what The Office should be. I know I'm probably in the minority but I've hated the Micheal Scott character for the past few seasons. He just got too absurd for me to enjoy. I'm pleased as punch at the idea of the show becoming more of an ensemble and allowing all the players more time to shine.

I enjoyed it myself. Love Andy as the boss - the fact he stood up to Spader was fun as well (will that move him to the "winners" column).
I loved the fact that Spader's character talked Jo out of her own job.

Last weeks episode had me laughing quite a bit. Especially Creed and Jim at the end when he asks Dwight if he showed in the evening or in the morning, because he wanted to shower at the same time to save water.

While this season certainly hasn't been as good as its prime, I think most of it has been pretty good. Last night was an exception, what an awful awful episode.

Nellie is essentially channeling Ricky Gervais.
Not good - hopefully, she doesn't stick around too much longer. I wouldn't mind her staying with the company and being one of those characters that appears a couple times a season, but she's been featured enough this year. |

At this point NBC needs to nuke it, or nearly rebuild it.

Looks like it will be a try at rebuilding next year. NBC ratings across the board is so bad, and this is their highest rated comedy. They are going to at-least try a rebuild. I just don't see the Dwight spin-off working, but who knows. |

HIMYM is leaps and bounds above The Office. They just keep on adding terrible characters and throwing in terrible storylines. There have definitely been some HIMYM clunkers, but at worst, it's still enjoyable to me, and at its best it's still very good. The Office is finished for me. |

I can't for the life of me figure out why Parks and Rec and Community aren't much higher rated than the current iteration of The Office.

Just tonight I deleted some 16 episodes of The Office that were sitting on my DVR. Just lost interest in watching it and realized that it wasn't going to come back.
I feel a bit sad. I did love this show for quite a while.

I'm ready to stop watching. My wife wants to finish the season so that's what we'll do.
I liked Andy as the manager. He played off the other characters pretty well, but this chick is just annoying. And I'll take Kathy Bates over whatshisname as the super-boss anytime. |
